we had a good time in this place. It is backpacker hostel, so you can't be really fussy. It was ok clean, rooms are very basic, but kitchen was well equiped, wifi fast and people interesting. It is on the main road which is handy when you go for a night out.

The Hostel was good and clean but the entire stay was rather strange. I booked a twin room which on arrival apparently meant i get not only a bunk bed but also a huge double bed as well and strangely i had a private bathroom. Everything was clean and well kept, thought i felt the bed was iffy but alright.... More

After reading some of the reviews, I was unsure of how this place would be, but I was pleasantly surprised. I stayed for 6 nights, booked a private twin room which was very comfortable, clean and had a TV. Kitchen and bathrooms were well maintained and kept clean. The free wifi was a nice bonus too. Location was good, there's... More

Simply put, I would never stay here again. In fact, had not everywhere else been booked when we arrived we would have gone straight to another lodging. On arrival, the staff member who checked us in was completely high and incredibly vague. The manager was disrespectful to us on checking out. They had previously promised us secure parking would be... More

We stayed here recently, our double room was great. Beds were comfortable, facilities available are well maintained. Nothing to really fault on that front. Service was a bit odd. The hostel worker we spoke to had no knowledge of the area and the only recommendation he had was to rent a car. He seemed quite disinterested to be honest, but... More

We arrived in the evening and had to wait in the lounge for our room to be 'made up'. The guy seemed surprised by our arrival even though we had booked in advance. When we got to the room it had not been cleaned and seemed like it had been thrown together. We asked for the bed to be remade... More

The Eagle's Nest is not the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in, but it is FAR from the worst. There's a full kitchen, great WIFI, interesting people, and clean bathrooms and beds. If you're looking for a hip, downtown/clubbing area, you're not going to find that here (I wasn't... and I am not even sure that exists in Hamilton, haha).... More

Upon arriving in Hamilton we found that the place that we were looking at staying at was fully booked. I spotted this one on the side of the road and we decided to stay there. Good price, friendly staff, pretty nice living area, clean bathrooms. I liked the room that we had, the bed was comfy, it had a TV... More

Stayed for one night in a double room, got upgraded to a double ensuite which had its own flat screen TV, fridge and kettle! Pros - Good size room, good shower, not far from the bus station, quiet, great in-room facilities, free tea and coffee, free wifi Cons - Kitchen bit dirty, lounge area not very inviting, staff not really... If you happen to be in Hamilton, this is a wonderful little backpackers spot. Considering its probably one of the cheaper spots to stay the night - it's clean, tidy with a friendly, reliable staff who are always happy to help. We had room #1 which was not very good, no windows, slight smell of burning from the burned out... More
