My room is simple but clean ,outdoors well kept, shower good pressure and hot water good. WIFI easily accessible with ID & Password clearly in a readable size font. Rooms quiet. Room serviced. TV had good channels to watch , not just ads. Has kitchen and dining table & chairs. A small hub to work on the computer. I was... More

Auto Lodge Motel is old. I was badly scolded in the shower when the water temperature suddenly went from warm to burning hot with no warning. I was able to move quickly, but the scald was painful & required treatment- luckily the water was not on my face or head at the time, a child or an elderly person would... More

We stayed in this motel for two nights in December while visiting friends. It is an odd mix - great airconditioning, quick wifi, very large parking areas, and huge TV but also dated interiors that seemed to have survived from an earlier era (my spouse says they are from the 1980s but I think late 1970s might be closer to... This year I stayed at the Auto Lodge Motel. This is a older style motel but seems to be in good condition. The motel was clean and had everything you needed. Did not have much interaction with the staff, but did not need to. Last year I stayed closer to town and was able to walk to restaurants, this year... More

Apart from the fact they doubled their prices while an event was on in town, this motel at it's normal price is not good value for money. They also said they had upgraded all there studio units, well not the one we stayed in. The bathroom is well in need of an upgrade, windows are draughty & can not shut... More

We 3 have stayed here before and found it to our liking with good accommodation for a reasonable price. The two rooms were tidy and clean although a bit dated. Pretty handy to city centre . On main road but we did'nt notice too much road noise. Would certainly stay here again.

The places it's self is not that bad if your into very old, BASIC accommodation. You do not get what you pay for. The room I had had a SPA bath in the bathroom but the drainage smelt rotten, is hate to think what it was. There was a massive communication issue when I booked a second room for a... More

We are a local family based business providing quality hospitality services for many years. Having years of experience and meeting a very broad range of guests, we operate under strict policies like all other motels. This guest, who had originally booked for 4 nights asked for a cancellation having already checked in and staying for one night, demanding a cancellation... More

The LCD TV is the biggest I had in motels in NZ. The room was basic but everything worked. If your room is nearer to the road, traffic noise is a problem, so try getting a room further away. This is the first motel along the road as you drive into town, so you may want to compare the other... More

Hmmmm. I stayed at this property on a 'walk-in' basis during a recent driving trip in NZ. The Auto Lodge Hamilton is located on a strip with numerous motels - so I guess competition is pretty strong. I was travelling by myself, so only wanted a single room. The lady on the front desk only wanted to sell me a... More

These people are difficult to deal with. Trying to get thru to people with very little english is bad enough, but the man that I tried to cancel our room with had no grasp of what I was saying and did not cancel a room which ended up costing me $220.00. Never again.
