The location is great, as the campground is situated right next to the beach. The beach itself is great to walk, jog, or run along, especially at low tide! The campsites are a little too small and orderly for my tastes; there isn't much separation (e.g. trees, bushes) from the surrounding sites. Despite this, the facilities are excellent! Buildings were... More

We have stayed in the lovely Motel units a couple of times & loved the location & facilities so much we have now moved our Caravan in there on a permanent basis as we spend most weekends in Gisborne this is a lovely beach front location and also very close to the main CBD & our work location in Gisborne... After looking for a closed camp that is now run by this same Top 10, we had no choice of holiday park in Gisborne. The camp store seems very well equipped, facilities seemed average as were the grounds. In saying this, this was the cheapest of the Top 10's on our trip with only $32 for a powered site for... We stayed here for one night in May at this camp, we found it lovely. We had a large campervan and the sites were very spacious. The ameneties were very nice , clean and free showers with plenty of hot water. It was nice to be able to walk to town

We spent a night here last Friday in a newly purchased motorhome. We had a nice site n beach front. Sites are of a good size, a lot bigger than we are used to in our usual camp. Pricing was very good, being a lot cheaper than we are used to. Facilities are a little older in style but all... More

Waikanae Top 10 Holiday Park is located at the beachfront near the mouth of Taruheru River and close to State Highway 35. The centre of unimpressive Gisborne is at walking distance. The park offers cabins, self-contained units and powered & unpowered sites. The park is OK with the surf pounding next door. Staffs are friendly and correct. As it was... More

We (four of us) came here the night after we'd been at the Top 10 in Ohope Beach and what a difference. The site, although right behind the beach, is also right in town and not a particularly attractive part either. The accommodation, a two-bedroom motel unit, was acceptable although not very spacious and facing towards the road. In fairness... More

We stayed in a cabin. The cabins are alright, however the bed was uncomfortable and I woke up sore. The location is good, it is by the beach and not far away from town. The campground has good facilities. Plenty of toilets and showers, and the showers are nice and warm.

We stayed in the Holiday Park several times and were never impressed. Once even just after arriving there was a loud noise that later seamed the come from storage between the cabins. We have been moved to a different cabin what had an overpowering smell, very obvious when entering the room. The resort is set beautifully along the beach, with... More

We stayed here twice on a recent trip in our campervan. The location is great right alongside Waikanae Beach, and the facilities are well maintained. Only a short walk into the centre of town. Slight negative is the nearby port loading facility, which was a bit noisy on our last night. Helpful and friendly staff.
