Following a 24-hour travel from mid-Canada we arrived at the Ridge Lodge in a somewhat frazzled state. That did not last long. A really nice relaxing time, set amongst rural Puhoi it was a very nice way to escape the city streeses. I love the proximity to the vineyards and Matakana markets among other things. The Ridge has just the right Balance between being entertained and being left alone. The measl were all experiences. Superb "chefing" from both Maralyn and Ian and stories, entertainment and laughter made the dinner go far too quickly - but as clever hosts do, we were left alone enough to be ourselves too.
