What a joy, to stay in a motel with great service as well as being in a fantastic location.....the rooms were well sized and the bed was really comfortable (and had an electric blanket, too - which seems to be a novelty in New Zealand!!)....... Can't understand the previous comment made about this Hotel! Just came back from a business trip in Auckland and wanted to stay somewhere which is walking distance to the beach - The ParkLane Motor Inn gave me that and more!!! Staff were super friendly and the rooms and ambience of the hotel were great. Breakfast was lovely andmy overall experience... more

I usually stay at the Spencer on Byron or Emerald Inn but they were booked so tried the Park Lane. It was gross. As soon as I walked in I knew I had made a very bad choice. The furniture, bedding and carpet was old and dirty and the walls where chipped and knocked about. Made the mistake of walking... more

Arriving at 6am, we were told our room was not yet available. Tired, we headed down the road for coffee & arrived back at 7:30am. Surprised but appreciative we were shown to our room immediately. Our hosts, Stewart & Sarah, have really found their calling. They welcomed, navigated, hosted & entertained us during our 4 night stay. The rooms are... more
