I was absolutely disgusted with the state of the room we were given, smelly, stained beds, and one of the beds broke 3 times when my friend was sleeping! extremely dangerous!! Very unhelpful staff, the list goes on! EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with this place! Yuck!

Ive never reviewed any accommodation before but I dont want anybody else to go here. Some staff were friendly and a great location but everything else was horrible. The whole place was run down and my room was disgraceful, tiny old foam mattresses, no curtains so no sloping after 7, really noisy, uncomfortably hot because the windows didn't open so... More

Great location and fairly cheap tells you what to expect. Some staff were lovely and helpful others not so much. The window in my room didnt open, leaving the room smelling very musty. The mattress was really thin and uncomfortable. I only stayed two nights and wouldnt stay any longer

This was our first base in New Zealand, just off the plane from Thailand. We arrived on a very busy weekend and ended up staying a week. The hostel was chaotic to put it mildly but it was an ok place to rest up. I must commend the professional and friendly staff member named Topher who was very helpful and... More

The overall feel of the hostel is like a sleazy, cheap hotel. There is absolutely no friendly atmosphere, especially as kitchen/ social areas are all divided and you need a ridiculous amount of codes to get anywhere. The amount of signs around the hostel screaming LOCK YOUR DOORS is unnerving. Ironically both toilets in the girls bathroom did not lock,... More

I tried to check in to this backpacker because it was the closest to the Intercity bus terminal. The helpful receptionist said they only had a staff room available and that it might be a bit messy. What I discovered was so disgusting I had to leave; I have seen refugees in better conditions on the news.

Do not stay here. Expensive wifi ($9 3hrs), broken sinks and a 100% no refund policy. With 6 days notice, I could not reduce my booking by 1 night. They didn't respond to 2 emails of complain. Kitchen grubby, broken taps and bigger freezer for staff than guests. Also found myself sharing a shower with a used sanitary towel. To... More

Just stayed there my first night in Auckland and that was, honestly said, enough. Location is pretty good, right in the center of Auckland just one street of Queens St, supermarket around the corner and not too far from the marina and all the restaurants/pubs. Room rates are average for Auckland. The hostel itself looks sort of messy and run... More

Intercity bus stop, Countdown (supermarket) and Sky Tower are very close to this hotel. The hostel is located in the middle of the city!! Great location!! It was a nice time when i stay there!! In addition, The room rate was reasonable. It was only $20 in a 8 bed dorm. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They can speak... More

We booked 4 nights on hostel.com and if we wouldn't have paid in advance we would have left early. Staff doesn't seem to be staff, just long-term stayers which are very demotivated and don't care about the hostel. That's the reason why the bathrooms are filthy and mould-infested and the rooms uncomfortable and frowsy. There was a huge window in... More
