The experience i had was 5 star from the very beginning, the initial phone call I made to enquire was handled in such a professional, friendly and very welcoming manner. Then I arrived, was greeted by name and shown around and made very welcome. The room was another experience and that made the stay even more special. The location so... More

We had a fantastic experience at the Braemar. From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, we felt John and his partner did everything they could to ensure a memorable experience. If you prefer history to modern, bare, and without character hotel rooms then this is your Shangri-la. Our room was large, very comfortable, quirky, and beautifully presented.... More

This accommodation makes hotels look boring. It certainly has a feel of a different era. John was awesome to chat with, he is clearly passionate about the restoration of the property. I also felt special having stayed in a place with an amazing history. The bath was very inviting, but not really practical to spend a lot of time in,... More

Choosing a place to stay in Auckland seemed like it would be a dificult task. We wanted to stay in a Bed and Breakfast in an area that allowed us to walk to the water front and see several of the museums. We also needed to be a short taxi ride to the Skytower. Braemar on Parliament was the perfect... More

Thank's for the review, glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I've always felt that being the " unhotel " is why we attract interesting people like you, Marta and Kicab. Helping guests discover the special things Auckland has to offer is one of the joys of running this B & B here in my home town. Cheers from John... More

What a great little find...we had been in Auckland for 2 nights and needed to extend. Unfortunatly or fortunatly the hotel could not accommodate us for a further night. after a little searching we came upon Braemar on Parliament. We quickly snapped up the last available room and found it to be within 400 metres of the hotel....didnt even have... More

John was such a friendly and helpful host! He went out of his way to make our stay more enjoyable. We walked to the ferry for Rangitoto. Breakfast was yummy and the room so quiet! We had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before so it was a real delight!

My wife and I stayed at Braemer to finish off our 5 week trip in New Zealand and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. We are often staying in top class hotels and this was one of the nicest places we have chosen with history to it. We stayed for 2 nights and now Braemer feels like... More

We had an amazing experience at Braemar Bed and Breakfast. our large family of 8 was well and truly looked after by John and Mel. This is our third stay and definitely not our last. Staying at Braemar has ruined any chance of us staying at a hotel when we're in Auckland, you cant beat the fabulous restored Victorian type... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Braemar. 5-7 min walk to CBD, and close to parks. John and Mel were very helpful in suggesting spots to view the fireworks for New Year's Eve, as well as with information about the surrounding islands and ferry rides. Generous breakfasts.
