I stayed twice in Oaklands lodge, one night each time. I chose the place because I was renting a car and wanted to be able to park it easily and out of curious eyes (had my lovely bike in the back), so I avoided the city centre. That worked a treat as Oaklands lodge is down a dead end, so... more

A lovely little place. Modern, well kept and clean. The only downside is that it´s a little way out of the city but that means it´s nice and quiet and there is everything you could need in Mt Eden itself more

We booked into Oakland Lodge in Auckland as it was in a suburb rather than in the city centre and it proved ideal. It was only a short bus ride into the city centre on regular cheap buses if we wished to go into it. The hostel itself was very quiet and clean lending itself to be a perfect base. more
