This is an older, budget hotel but the rooms are very, very clean. The service was outstanding. The rooms are very tiny so if you have a lot of luggage this is not a good hotel for your needs. The location is central and easy to walk to Queen Street and the water/port. If you are from the USA where... More

If your looking for somewhere cheap and basic this is the place. The rooms are very small and it is a struggle to find space for your backpack or bag. The rooms are very dated and a bit tired but I guess its what you are paying for. The location is good and within short walking distances to alot of... More

my husband and I liked this hotel because it is very clean and comfortable. It got most of the basic you need: bathroom accessories, coffee, sugar, tea & milk, iron, iron board, T.V. phone. And the location is great. We don't need to take the public bus to see around downtown Auckland.

Probably the smallest hotel I have stayed. Stayed for a night after moving from the other hotel at the end of the road. This hotel is the cheapest we could find. We didn't expect much from the hotel given the price but still, we were pretty shocked to find out how tiny the room was. It's so tiny that we... More

The rooms are very small, but if all you need is a place to lay your head, this is it. This is a 'no frills' kind of place, but it was clean and pleasant, the front of house lady was extremely lovely and helpful, and best of all, CHEAP!

Read some good reviews on this place and booked for my older teenagers to stay while visiting for a concert; my priority was well located but above all clean and tidy. Perhaps it was because they were two 'younger than the average guests,' but they are well travelled and have stayed in a mixture of very nice places - both... More

I rate this hotel "Very Good" based in large part on its economical price. It is not a fancy hotel. This suits me fine but it may not be for everyone. I have stayed here several times over 12 years and will continue to return. Econo Lodge (formerly City Central) is a very basic hotel with tiny rooms and no... More

The staff at the reception desk was very polite and professional. The lobby is quaint and the dining area is clean. The hotel room (single occupation) is very compact. But, it is a clean and safe place to rest your feet after a long day of business and travel. Don't expect a fancy hotel stay, but do expect basic comfort... More

I must say I was disappointed after reading that some other reviewer had said it was bigger than a Ibis I would have to disagree ! Not much difference at all. The room was very small, tired but clean. My husband hit his head on the shelving, the shower head is low (not built for taller people) and old. But... More

I booked this hotel knowing it was a budget choice - much better than a backpackers, but still in Auckland CBD. The rooms are small(no room for large suitcases) and the bed was a double, the price was good and ours included a basic but pleasant continental breakfast. The bathroom was dated but serviceable - shower head very low(no hair... More
