It is just another city hostel, most of like any other in new zealand, some long termers, busy pub downstairs, friendly staff, quite clean hostel. There was actually nothing bad about this place. Location of hostel is very good.

We stayed here for just one night in a four bed dorm. It's small, dirty and very disappointing. And it certainly wasn't one of the cheaper hostels. Also the bar below is very loud and it's all you can hear until about 3am! We moved to another hostel the next day!

I had no sleep in this place and I used a toilet outside of the building as the facilities were so dirty. The staff are friendly enough but the hostel is awful. The bed had two random matteresses which folded in the middle and squeaked, I could hear doors slamming all night, also the road outside was very busy. the... More

Just spotted 'free fast internet' on the description on here which is a lie - you have to pay. The whole place is extremely dated and smelly. The bathrooms were disgusting with wet towels on the floor. The staff were sometimes nice but had a funny way of dealing with you (night time staff were lovely though). Prior to NZ... More

There's a reason the hostel is very cheap. It's not a big deal if you stay one night, but much longer than that probably isn't a good idea. Weird setup and VERY close quarters even though we got the double room. Wouldn't recommend for more than a night

The bar and the free snacks are awesome, but the dorms are terrible! There is a weird smell and the carpets are really dirty. Only go here if youre non stop drunk so you don't notice!! The other Nomads hostel in the same street is a better option. That one is clean and not smelly! Big plus is their roofterrace... More

We stayed here for barely a night before our flight and didn't really enjoy it. The rooms are in a apartment style with a few rooms off a communal kitchen area with a bathroom. When we arrived the atmosphere was not great, it kind of seemed like we were moving into someone's apartment who didn't want us there. The shower... More

This hostel was really weird. There was a bizarre atmosphere there and my friend and I felt uncomfortable when staying there. Good points are the location is good and the staff were friendly. I also liked the concept of the apartment style dorms. However, it was dirty and uncomfortable with extortionate WiFi (this does seem to be a theme but... More

Pretty good hostel, central location just off queen street. highs = FREE FOOD every night and the sociable guests Lows = price of the wifi.. $5 for an hour was the most expensive I've seen also the complete booze ban, stayed in a few hostels where you could drink until 10pm (to stop too much noise) and I think that's... Drunk loud kids all night long. No plug by bed to charge cell phone. Generally uncomfortable. On the positive side...nice bar with good prices.. The hostel has a meal deal every night and they have activities such as a pub crawl. Friendly staff! Fun place if I didn't have to sleep there! Also; if you have a car... BEWARE! The... More
