Last hotel stop on a family trip to NZ. Bad experience had by all. List of issues: - Stains all over ben linen - Asked reception to change linen, went out for dinner and visited the casino for a few hours, came back to stained linen still on bed. Staff threw a screwed up replacement blanket on spare roll-along bed.... More

We stayed at the Grand Chancellor on Saturday night 19th July 2014, and it is about the 5th time we have stayed there. It has become our hotel of choice when we come to Auckland City as the General Manager - Graham Hill and his staff are always so very obliging and helpful. We always try and book a 3... More

I had an early morning train to catch and arrived quite late at night - this hotel proved to be perfectly located as I had just a short walk across to the Wynyard Quarter for dinner and then short walk to the train station. Although I never used any of it (actually fell asleep before I even got into bed),... More

We had a Grab One special for our one night stay here. The room was comfortable enough but a little tired in decor. It has a swimming pool, spa and sauna which we unfortunately didn't use but it did look great. The hotel reception is not really welcoming and therefore there was no sense of atmosphere. A great hotel has... More

We chose this hotel purely on its location and price. Everything was ok. We managed to procure a car park in the basement which pleased us. The cost was $30 but one would expect this being right amongst it in auckland CBD. Loved walking everywhere and of course the viaduct is so close. Yes it was a wee bit noisy... More

This hotel needs to decide what its customers expect when they pay to stay. Generally the staff and 1 bedroom suite that we stayed in was clean and well presented. However to be told that there was no parking available when we arrived and, as it was very wet, had to go elsewhere to park was the first little thing... More

Read helpful reviews on Trip Advisor before we booked so we were well aware to book for carparking and being charged an extra $30per night for carparking. Then every time that you enter or leave the carpark, you have to ask front desk to buzz you either in or out. It kind of became a hassle after a while but... More

Stayed for a night in town for a birthday celebration (we live in Manukau). Not the best place we've every stayed but certainly not the worst. Amazing views, huge deck (we were on the 13th floor) clean but tired and always great having full kitchen facilities. Also used the pool, which was also quite tired and tried to use the... More

Not overly impressed with the Grand Chancellor. We had booked a lead in room, street facing & was surprised at how small it was. We only had a shower over bath, which I thought was disappointing for the price. As we were enjoying a NZ road trip, we had a car & this was more than inconvenient for the check... More

We have stayed at the Grand Chancellor a number of times but this time we booked into a one bedroom apartment with a harbour view. We were on the 11th floor and we had a fantastic view over the harbour and viaduct. The apartment was very spacious and well set out and had a very well equipped kitchen. There was... More
