okay start of on a good note. helpful staff on site when it was office hours and showed us where our room was. bad point office hours was only for a few hours in morning and evening. stayed at many backpackers places but this one takes the cake at being the worst run hostel out of them all. nice building... The hostel was good overall, I was dreading staying in the city but this is 20 mins walk from town or 7 min bus ride for $2. The building is beautiful and seemed like you can also camp with tent which is cool. I stayed in nice female dorm, everyone was super friendly which you get with a smaller hostel.... More

We stayed 4 nights (April 2014) and 2 nights (July 2014) in a double room. We don’t want to return. It's a pity because the place is magnificent, but very decrepit. The old carpet was dirty. The kitchen and the dining room are small for all the travelers (waiting to cook). The number of shower were sufficient but they are... More

Only stayed at this place as I couldn’t find a bed a place I would have preferred. Regretted not trying harder to find somewhere better. Can’t comment on the inside rooms as I didn’t stay in any. Good location close to the Museum, however it is too far walk from town with a backpack and the bus fares quickly add... More

Stayed a few nights on the beginning of our 6 month journey around NZ. Room was without bathroom a little bit smelly and lightly overpriced. Simple showers and bathroom, nice garden, nice and big kitchen. Just bought our Camper in Aukland ( happy we found an insert of a camper on the wall of the guesthouse which were perfekt for... More

The Hostel is alright it's a 20 minute walk from the City. Can be really exhausting with your backpack. But you can use the bus. Guess the location has it's pro and cons. When you don't need to be in the city itself you can definitely stay there. Really close to the museum and to a street where you can... More

I like small hostels, but this one didn't accept how small it is. We had to pay 20 dollars to sleep in our car. 20 dollars!!!!!, ok it's auckland I understand. Check out is at 10 am, and you have to leave the premises. This is the first time ever, and I have been in hostels around the world, for... More

I liked the hostel - I stayed in a dorm - it's really cozy and yes there could be some renovations but it is okay. you can wash and dry your stuff, sit on the porch or cook in the well equipped kitchen. it's located in Parnell, which is the oldest and cutest district of Auckland. But this also means... More

A nice hostel with very friendly and helpful hosts. We arrived in Auckland at 6am after a long flight from Los Angeles. They made up our room first so we could get some much needed rest. It was a nice double upstairs. They help each person when they arrive get information on the area. Nice quiet neighborhood. Short trail to... More

Positive: Quiet location not far from Inner Circle Line bus stop; garden; free coffee&tea. Negative: My room (- maybe the worst in the house -) was smelly, an uneven vitrified terrace (window front over three sides, too bright in the morning). Sometimes responsible and informed reception staff was neither on site nor accessible by phone: I couldn't modify a booking... More
