I have stayed at 2 star to 5 star hotels and Hotel DeBrett is by far the most disappointing. Perhaps if one stays for 1 or 2 days and they don't come face to face with the dreadful management, the Debrett would be fine, as the location is wonderful, beds are comfortable, food is ok, many rooms are inside rooms... Loved this place. Couldn't be better located right in the CBD. Hugely imaginative renovation of an old (and apparently run down) hotel, keeping the external look, but providing very modern urban chic look inside. Our suite (101) was very comfortable and even though it is right next to the bar and restaurant and looks out onto the street, no noise... More

We stayed here for an urban getaway in Auckland on Sunday, just so we could relax and unwind. Hotel DeBrett was the perfect place to stay, from the moment we pulled up outside until the moment we left. Beautiful art deco style interiors, spacious bathroom with an enormous bathtub, and a stunning loft suite...this hotel truly shows its guests the... More

I love boutique hotel and this one I would go back to if I were to go back to Auckland. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free wifi, breakfast(lovely cold buffet), frees drinks in the drawing room each evening where you get a chance to meet other guest along one of the staff members who shares personal stories and gives advice... This is actually unusual for me to write a review while still at the hotel. This one deserves it. Where do I begin? The quaintness, cozines, chic aura ...? The hotel has a restaurant and a bar right inside the premises. I mean right where you would expect guest rooms. Despite these uniqueness, you do not hear a thing from... More

I would love to go back to Auckland purely to stay in this hotel again, and for longer this time. The hotel is quirky, fun, colourful, trendy, perfectly situated, friendly staff, gorgeously decorated, the food was delicious.. Definitely stay here if you are going to Auckland. We were lucky to meet Michelle, the owner, and had a drink with her... More

We recently travelled to Auckland to work for a couple of days. Staying in this centrally located hotel was great. Rooms are uber chic and the bathrooms are outstanding with a lovely deep bath to soak up the days sightseeing. Pre-dinner drink is on offer in the drawing room and their restaurant has been voted in the Top 50. Continental... More

When we arrived to the hotel the receptionist was very nice to us and walked us in to our room. First night was in a classic room and then two nights in a very very nice loft suite with a city view. If you want to book a loft suite with stairs you have to mention that in an e-mail.... More

This hotel is unusual for Auckland city at this level, its not a chain hotel and has a nice boutique feel about it. The breakfast service was unfortunately poor. We waited 40 minutes for food then gave up and asked it to be sent to our room as we needed to pack to leave but other than that the hotel... More

This boutique hotel is nestled in a laneway in the heart of Auckland. The rooms and service were lovely and welcoming. Just what you expect of boutique style hotels - and they do it well. Would absolutely stay here again. The bar is quaint but they also have sofa style lounging next to the restaurant. The breakfast was limited -... More
