Fantastic location but you do get the noise of the city especially at night time. Shoppiong is just off down on Queen Street. You do need to factor into your budget if you have your own car as parking is quite expensive. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade otherwise the rooms are perfect.

I think it is time to give the Mercure Auckland a facelift. The rooms are looking very tired and in fact our room was falling apart. The rooms (at least the one I was in) needs a refurbish. Other than that, great location, friendly staff, reasonable value. I was asked (as usual) if I'd had anything from the minibar - that would have been difficult in my case as I didn't have one! Or, it was so well hidden I couldn't find it...

The view from the upstairs café and the gym is fantastic. The room was serviceable, however obviously in need to a refurbishment with the AC being very noisy, one of the double glazed units missing the inner window, and quite a few areas of lost paint. It'll do, very good location, don't pay full price.
