The worst WiFi out of all backpackers and hostels, hotels and motels I've ever stayed at, bad form you should be ashamed, even if free for members its not free as its already paid for. Bad airflow in rooms smells like rotten feet. So hot and no air conditioning or proper vents for airflow in the rooms. Get a new... More

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at YHA Auckland International. A new WiFi system was implemented at the beginning of April and we have seen a considerable improvement in performance across both our Auckland Hostels. We know WiFi is important to our guests and we continue to invest in improving... More

I stayed here for a night, after an inglorious episode, where the hostel that I ad booked at, got the months wrong, and I was left with no bed, and was almost left with no room at any inn, when I managed to book a bed through YHA's online booking system, and got a bed immediately, here. I had a... More

We are members of YHA Australia and have been for many years. Of all the yha's we have stayed in this clearly and unambiguously takes first prize for being the WORST YHA we have ever stayed in. We stayed for 3 nights in February 2014 in a private twin room on the first floor. The bedding, sheets, pillows the worst... More

Stayed here one night for a concert. We were not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. Small room but extremely clean, with comfortable bed and great shower. Close to Queen St but very quiet at night - we were on 2nd floor at the back of the building. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money.

When I checked in at the required time of 2pm there was no sheet or pillow cover on my bed and I had to go back to reception to get it. That wasn't an issue. However, the mattresses are foam and probably 15 years old. I felt every wooden board that was under the mattress against my hips, ribs, shoulder,... More

It's not full of character but this central yha is well run, clean and the staff are really helpful. After a 24 hour flight it's just what you need! A nice cafe is 30 seconds walk away for breakfast too

We stayed at this hostel two times. The first time they ask us to pay for two nights instead of one night. The receptionnist was not very competent. The bed are okay, the showers are hot. Most of the room have very small windows so it's dark. Convenient if you have a car to park or arrive late (24hours reception).... More

Thank you to Linda and the team for looking after our large group from Japan (my husband, his family, our friends). She helped us with room allocation, useful information etc. It was everyone's first time to stay in a YHA, but I know they all had fun staying in a dormitory room and meeting people from other countries. We will... More

I stayed at the YHA Auckland International twice during my stay. The first time I was given a nice double room. But the second time I got a twin room although I had booked a double room again. This room was ok, too, though one of the beds was quite dirty. The reception staff was sometimes quite unfriendly.
