An excellent hotel for a start would have toothpaste? Maybe a toothbrush? Maybe even a quick little tour Parking was so difficult to find and the entrance you are not given enough information. Also being told that my credit card didn't work? And if i did not go down right now to sort it she would stop my access key card... More

This has to be one of the best Hotels in Auckland... It can be a bit expensive, but it's worth every penny... Local to everything with fantastic views... The staff were exceptional, as was the service...

The Metropolis was originally a hotel, but has now been converted to condo apartments that are individually owned. The one-bedroom we rented was the perfect size for two people, had a well stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and a small balcony with a great view of the harbour. The location was perfect - only 4 blocks from the harbour, one block to... More

Great location although the entrance is not that well sighposted. Wonderful views at night. Stayed there for one night on Feb 18th. Cracked and chipped crockery, aircon not working properly - it was heating when we needed cooling, bed was lacking any support at all so I woke up with a sore back and worst of all, there was a... I guess the best thing about staying here was the convenient location based in the CBD, which meant all the main shops and attractions we were interested in were walking distance from the hotel. We stayed on the 30th floor, so the view from our balcony was spectacular, especially at night! The apartment itself was slightly dated, but at least... More

Great location. Love being in the Centre of the city. Close to shops, main street or 5mins down to the wharf. Staff are awesome as my partner and I have stayed here a few times so we were always well looked after. We have recommended this place to friends and family and they have also stayed here. Noise wise was... More

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and last stayed here 11 years ago. While it's a central location, the decor is now extremely worn and tired. The bed & bathroom linen were clean and in good condition but the crockery was not. There were only two glasses & both were chipped, one very badly. The bed was comfortable and while... More

This is one of the oddest buildings you may consider staying in. There are actually two hotels (with different entrances), with the main one being the successor to the Stamford Residences, the other, a rival one, being established by an individual owner of 60 or so apartments in the building. In addition, you will find resident-owners, long term renters and... More

We were up on 7th or 8th floor and had a lovely view over the harbour. We couldn't be happier when we first checked in. I wouldn't say the hotel is spotless clean and I question about the daily cleaning but I thought never mind, it is good enough. The hotel is in Central Auckland, as such great for all... More

This is my second Auckland long term review following a lengthy and enjoyable stay at Rendezvous Hotel. I chose to opt for something slightly more spacious, fully featured, and closer to Auckland central, so 12 months later here are my thoughts for all you aspiring travellers.... Metropolis is considered to be the most luxurious accommodation in Auckland, though from my... More
