When I booked, I didn't realise how close this hotel is to the Viaduct where this town parties all night. As a very light sleeper, I got about 2 hours broken sleep over 2 nights (Fri and Sat - don't know how noisy it is during the week). And this was with the new double window system that is mentioned... more

Stayed here a few nights in July and also a few nights late in 2007. I'm glad to say that some of the broken things were fixed this time as last time I stayed there were broken buttons in the lifts and a lot of the gym gear was broken. Last time I was here the room internet access was... more

Friday night stay and noise/music/bands from local venues was dreadful but even worse was the stench in the room. Had to close the windows because of the noise and then the stench hit. Was late at night and daughter exhausted so she slept through (also had no sense of smell as had a really bad head cold) but I spent... more

Globetrotters review pretty well sums it up. I thought NZ $150 was a great deal for a Copthorne/Millenium hotel - stupidly i booked through their web site trusting the brand without checking on Tripadvisor - rookie error! For $155 it was ok, not worth any more. The views are very good & the rooms a good size but the bathroom... more

Good views from 11th floor over the harbour and cruise terminal. Large well equipped room though decor dated & worn. Adequate toiletries and towels. more

I chose the hotel partly because it has harbour views and partly because I associated the name Copthorne with quality. In the event the view from our room was great but the decor, furnishing and general state of the hotel is not satisfactory and it needs an extensive refit. We stayed at a number of other city hotels in NZ... more

Stayed here for 1 night on a friday. Phoned from the airport and thought the location with view to the harbour would be ideal. The hotel needs urgent updating and modernising. Its very very tired looking. No double glazing and the noise until 0600 a.m. from weekend party people prevented us to sleep. Sheets were clean but very untidy and... more

Thank you for your feed back over the summer months we have added new revolutionary window joinery to all 188 rooms, which helps to reduce noise substantially. The new laminate glass together with the existing window joinery, has effectively decreased noise levels by up to 80%, and ensures our guests enjoy a peaceful sleep. We have also completed a soft...

we had a premium room right overlooking harbour.Only downside was that our room despite being on 9th floor was overlooking a night club by the Maritime Museum,.We stayed there on a Friday night & were kept awake until 4a.m by shrieking and buskers with a sing along crowd.I know you do not expect total quiet in a city but double... more

I have stayed at Copthorne several times on business. Pluses: Unbeatable location on Quay Street directly across from Auckland harbor, yacht basin and maritime museum, short walk to Queen Street and Albert Street shopping and dining areas. Fantastic harbor views from all rooms. Fairly reasonable rates. Overall clean rooms, although some mold by ducts and between bathroom tiles. OK service.... more
