Avoid room 301. Wind whistled through the window and couldn't shut it up. Very tired looking could do with some money spent on it. Great location. Receptionist hard to understand. Lift was very slow and I was worried I'd be stuck in it. Not used to staying inner city but parking was $25 a day, bit steep.

We booked here a few weeks prior to arrival. I stated that I work in the industry and it is a special girls night out for us. The rate we paid was $192. Upon arrival the lobby seemed ok, but boy did we got a big surprise when got up to the room! (first of all they asked for $50... More

Very sad to see such a well branded hotel in such poor condition. The only good points were the location and the bar. That said it was very noisey with the noise from local bars and clubs going until 4am due to such poor double glazing. We stayed on the 4th floor and the condition of the room was appauling.... This hotel is very central to Auckland. We love staying here, but are finding the rooms are looking a bit out of date. The bath rooms look like they need renovating badly. The decor old looking. Needs brightening up with some colour. And the air conditioning upgrading. Staff are very helpful.

Stayed at the Akl Copthorne hotel with a grab one voucher a great location for the viaduct, ferries, boat trips and queen street. Great pricing with breakfast, parking and room rate at $99.00. Room was clean and tidy, it's an old hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade overall, however great views of the harbour bridge, harbour and... More

Grand lady in a great location in a desperate need of revitalisation is the only way to describe this hotel. The room was a typical ‘motel’ room being rectangular with the bathroom being located immediately inside the door. The furnishings were basic with ‘modern-style’ beds and side tables. There was a black colour theme in the room consistent with New... More

We had a night in the city recently during our holiday to Auckland. Copthorne was reasonably priced and really well situated to explore the viaduct and queens street area. Although the decor was a bit tired and dated I couldn't fault the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of our room and our awesome harbour view

This hotel is in an ideal location overlooking the harbour + ferry terminal + near to the Britomart train + local bus station + plenty of shopping areas. We always stay here even though the facilities are basic + there is no real disabled access thoughout the hotel. There is a level access from the road but there are a... More

Yes this hotel is old and yes the rooms need updating BUT the room was very clean and comfortable. An excellent location for the Auckland waterfront with views of 'The Cloud' building illuminated at night. Our room was on the 8th floor away from the lifts with a queen bed and a single. The first night was incredibly noisy as... More

When did you last stay in a central city hotel with key access to your room, opening sliding windows and pink woollen blankets? Not many still exist in Auckland, but this was fully compensated by the superb inner harbour views and the incomparable location of this hotel. Opposite the viaduct, there could not be a better choice for a weekend... More
