We stayed in a superior room on the 10th floor for 1 night. We had a special deal that was great value for money, but got a bit nervous after reading some reviews on here. Turns out we didn't need to worry at all. Check in was friendly & quick, awesome location of course. We found our room clean &... More

I stayed in this hotel while in Auckland on business, the only thing I could fault was the lack of a power point in the bathroom for a hair drier but I made do with the one in the back of the wardrobe. Apart from that the room was very clean, no problem with checking in or out, great breakfast,... More

The hotel is very dated and run down, beds & pillows are well beyond replacement date, no power point in bathrooms, hard to find any at all in the room, ended up finding on inside the wardrobe!!! Will not stay here again. Even with double glazing it was still noisy, we were on the 7th floor and could still hear... More

Bathrooms are plastic & fittings are broken. Stained carpet in room & hallways & room smells musty. Room is so hot! Had an air-con dial in room & i set it to 10 degrees Celsius but it just made room warmer. Rung reception, he explained the dial doesnt do anything & he was embarrassed by it. Hotel is run on... This room was booked by my boyfriend for my 21st birthday last minute as a surprise. It clearly said on our reservation that we had booked a queen or king bed. However when we checked in we were given a twin with two tiny bed. When we rung down to reception we were told that there were no more queen... More

Stayed at this hotel one weekend with my partner. The location of this hotel is perfect, right by the harbour, great views, and so close to fine restaurants and shops etc. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. But... The room was very outdated, especially the bathroom. Old broken tiles, old bath-tub etc. The walls were also pretty thin,... More

I live about 45 minutes from Auckland CBD, so occasionally stay in town for a special event or occasion. We stayed here last week when we were attending a concert at the Vector Arena, and eating at the Viaduct. The location of this hotel is definitely the best thing about this hotel. It's extremely central, and has fantastic views. The... More

Worst hotel I've stayed in, in years. We paid 4 star prices for a 1 star joint. Filthy bathroom, broken tiles everywhere. Mold in the corridors, stairwells and of course in the rooms themselves. I chose not to take the "free" breakfast considering it to probably come from kitchens that must be a health hazard (which I had to assume... More

We choose this hotel for a pre cruise stay as it is directly across the street from where the cruise ships dock. Just wheeled our luggage across. The hotel is old and needs lots of TLC but the convenience was worth it Staff was friendly. Breakfast was over $27.00 each so we passed.

So, said the colleague who was also staying at the Copthorne, get over it, it's just a bed, just somewhere to stay. And I tried really hard. But the moment I risked contacting some mysterious disease from the thousand year old rubber mat thing that I had to lay down in the bath (shower) to prevent a hip smashing slip... More
