Nothing that would stop another visit, but . . . Shower-over-bath indicates it's approximate build date. Friendly staff, nice room views over the harbour, double glazing to reduce street noise, reasonable in-room amenities, but some things definitely in need of attention. Things like: choked extractor fan in the bathroom - behind the grille, a de-laminating lower bathroom door, an old... More

Very good location down by the Quay, but within very easy walking of Queen Street. We had a really good view of the bay from our room, which was a reasonable size and clean. Staff seemed efficient and friendly. Continental breakfast was good. Admittedly it was a Sunday night when we stayed, but I was keen to find a lively... More

I stayed one night and the room was fine. The problem was the manager, Stephen John Newland. I was billed for 7 phone calls from my room with no mention or warning that the room provided phone was an extra cost. There was no sign stating this was an extra fee and I had just left a hotel from Taupo... More

Copthorne HarbourCity occupies an enviable downtown waterfront location, right on the edge of the Viaduct Basin, opposite the Maritime Museum, across the road from the Ferry Terminal, just a 5 minute walk from Queen Street, and 10 minute walk from the SkyTower. Unfortunately, apart from a lick of paint inside, and some exceptionally bland MDF room furniture, it doesn't really... More

There was a woodpecker kind of sound coming from the bathroom during the night and early morn. I assume it was the pipes from the room next to mine. It woke me up earlier than I wanted (assumed that it was triggered by the guest next door showering). The toilet had stains on it. On the plus side, the breakfast... More

We stayed here as it overlooks the harbour. Room was basic, but nice, with beautiful harbour views. Was amazing watching the cruise ships come in. If possible, request a room on a higher level. Breakfast was buffet was reasonably priced and food was not bad. Staff were friendly.

This is a great place to stay in Auckland. Located right on Queens Wharf, the Copthorne provides good access to local cafes, pubs & bars. Also with in walking distance to the transport centre. The CBD isn't too far away either where there is good shopping & more excellent eateries. We had a great stay here which made our trip... More

Great location and views, but very dated. Didn't get much sleep as was a Saturday night and noise from traffic and revellers was nonstop until 4am. Room was near lifts and the noise from them moving, opening and closing was constant.

We arrived with our rental car and was greeted at the reception by a lovely elderly Maori lady who was most helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is also located conveniently downtown near many nice places to eat and shop. Beds were comfortable and room was nice and warm as it was winter time and down to... More

This is a repeat visit for me, and I just love this place! $110 for a harbour view! It simply amazes me how people complain about the dated look. Of course it has a dated look, and it mystifies me as how travellers cannot identify this through the pricepoint (i.e $110 for a harbour view....hello!) But all of this will... More
