We stayed at this hotel as it was just so convenient for the cruise ship terminal. As we had read some of the so negative hotel reviews we were pleasantly surprised to find a hotel which so exceeded our low expectations. The staff were helpful and courteous especially considering the huge numbers of guests who all wanted to check out... More

Where to start? Ripped chair in bedroom, mould around the bath, one lightbulb not working so very dark in room, Wifi extra, noisy, whole room in need to painting. The entrance to the hotel also poor and tatty. Only good thing was the view.

When you tell people you're staying in a Millennium Hotel, they tend to think quality, modern, international. Despite the perfect location on the waterfront in Auckland, the Copthorne Hotel, part of the Millennium Hotel group doesn't live up to any aspect of that reputation. The rooms are old and shabby. The decor is tired. The beds are ancient and the... More

Clearly the location can't be faulted, being right on the quayside, opposite the ferry terminal and all rooms are harbour view. But.... The rooms are now pretty tired. We had a top floor superior room but even that was tired. The price was reasonable though.

Big spacious room with gorgeous view of the harbour. Very comfortable beds. I chose this hotel mainly for the location and was an easy stroll to viaduct harbour and queen st, etc. Late night meal service was very convenient. Friendly staff & room cleaning service.

If you are jumping from one cruise ship to another, this is a perfect hotel. It is right on the harbor where you can reach ship and hotel on foot with luggage. On the other hand, all the other reviews are true. It is a poorly appointed hotel in all respects. It is crowded and it shows its age. If... More

Wharf view,in the viaduct area. But hotel smelt musty(3rd and5th floors, lifts rattled and banged. Rooms were just too awful, where to start? All round bath was mouldy tiles chipped and damaged, bedroom furniture was old, damaged and surfaces knocked n peeled, bed linen tatty, blankets had holes in them.Foyer and hallways were repainted in places,a kid could have done better.Shame on You. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The staff at the front desk barely speak English and were less than helpful. They claim to offer free wifi for 30 minutes in the lobby but this expired before I used it and the staff would not offer to assist at all. In the hotel room there was mold growing all... More

Agreed with everyone else's reviews that the only thing great about this hotel is the location and view. Stayed in the summer our room was very hot, we had the air conditioner on full blast at the lowest temp but it wasn't doing it's job, I don't know if it was broken or just crap. Had to sleep with the... More
