Great location - right on the harbor and walking distance to many shops and restaurants and ferries. Hotel is older, and it shows. It was clean, but the room decor was very dated; patched tub; old tiles; old furnishings with scratched furniture, and empty hooks on the wall where a picture probably was. No ramps from reception up 4 stairs... More

We chose this hotel because of the location which is very handy to public transport, the harbour and has good views. However, it is showing its age and looking pretty tired. Everything in the room worked, it was clean and quiet. We were disappointed in the restaurant (separate review) but there are very many eating places at all prices within... More

Was so disappointed at how rundown the Copthorne HarbourCity was. We have stayed with this group before and have always enjoyed the experience so we were really surprised at the condition of this Hotel. The rooms had old plastic chairs that were spilt and the bathroom was very dated with cracked laminate - we also has a rusty bottle opener... More

I have stayed here a few times over the last few years for conferences and training courses, the hotel is pretty average and there is nothing really flash about it, the decor can be dated as it was opened in the 1970's but has has work done to it over the years to try and keep it modern, the price... Hotel is located right on the harbour front. You have to haul your cases up four or five steps to access the lift so this could cause some difficulty if you have problems lifting etc. The lift doors also close quite quickly so you need to be quick off the mark getting in or out. The room was spacious and... More

When we checked out of our hotel, staff informed us that the plan is to demolish the hotel and completely rebuild it as they know it is dated. Not sure when they plan to do this but I think they said within the next year. So this hotel has a GREAT location - literally right across the street from the... More

Lovely views of the harbour and cruise ships coming and going, seemed to be popular with tour groups. Room and furnishings were fine for a 1 night stay. Parking is hard to access in the rain, we ended up soaked just parking the car. Breakfast buffet was great, the highlight was the pancake machine.

I inadvertently booked a twin share room on line rather than a double. At check-in I asked reception staff if it was possible to change to a double. Although the hotel did not seem to be overly full the reception staff said that nothing was available. I got the distinct impression that they thought it was just too much trouble... More

The room size was ok, for 1 person. Very dated decor, but seemed clean enough. Great view over the harbour, and it wasn't as noisy as I thought it would be - I had no trouble sleeping. I had breakfast in the onsite restaurant, but I wish I hadn't bothered. Their special was a flat rate of $18 for cooked... More

Copthorne is in one of the best locations adjacent to the Viaduct Precinct, Ferry Buildings, bars and downtown Auckland shopping centre, but is starting to look a bit tired. Staff were courteous and 3 hour happy hour
