I spent two nights in this hotel, and although it was somewhat basic, I found it pleasant enough, clean, with a good view and in a centrally located position. The worst part was trying to find my way back to it after I'd walked into the city, just a little tricky for someone who is not familiar with Auckland. Kept... More

On the whole, this is a good hotel, offering value for money. Its certainly better than the Harbour city Copthorne - cleaner and less tired. I was disappointed that the wifi wasn't free, which I wanted for work purposes. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for something inexpensive in the centre of Auckland.

Overall this is a terrible value. You might as well stay in a hostel. The hotel is falling apart. The shower was broken. The "queen" bed isn't actually a queen bed--it's just two full size beds shabbily stuck together. The walls are very thin and so it's pretty loud. The wifi is the absolute worst--it has a very low data... More

This was a old, tired hotel and ashamed to say that it is in Auckland. After arriving at the hotel we went to our room only to be welcomed by a very strong ‘toilet’ smell. We went straight to reception to report the smell and asked if we could move. We were told there were no other rooms available and... More

Very unimpressed from the first to the last moment, the staff were unhelpful, at check in there were no friendly smiles and no request was met with a helpful answer. I stayed at the end of a tour and it rather put a dampener on the last night. For dinner we were put in a musty smelling function room. We... More

More or less for the tour groups. Very small room, small shower with low water pressure. Beds are very old and " sinky " . Location was ok though. The best feature has got to be the buffet breakfast . Good variety for everyone. Overall, it was ok.

Apart from the good location the hotel disappoints from the start go. Apart from the lobby the passages and the rooms are in need of some serious facelifts. The passages are grubby looking and looked like they were last renovated in the '60's The doors and locks are comparable to some dingy hotel on the wrong side of the street... More

I stayed here for two nights having arrived from Scotland and I had a very enjoyable experience. The location was ideal and only a short 10 min walk to all city centre amenities. The room was fantastic and I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the room and the facilities. The bed was super comfortable with no noise coming from the... More

First of all I stand corrected but I think this Hotel is 31/2 Star Grading. I stayed at this Hotel for One night. I personally felt good about this Hotel. The only issue I had was that the restaurant only had a bistro style menu and I felt it could have more variety to suit all tastes. Overall I felt... More

Generously sized rooms and good facilities. Within convenient walking distance of the downtown area (although Auckland is hilly, so you're uphill on the way back to the hotel). I was able to take advantage of an offer that included free internet access (which I think should be a standard inclusion in this day and age!!)
