Stayed here during my trip to Auckland. Great location , close to everything and all the sites. Bedrooms were clean and had opening windows, laundry was convenient in the hostel and they had a large clean kitchen. Staff and the manager were awesome they helped me with my planning and hooked me up with a cheap camper van at only... More

Booked a full week on booking.com for this hostel which turned out to be the worst hostel we have stayed in in a year of travelling. Upon check in we had to pay a higher rate than our booking rate on the internet "because you can stay a maximum of 3 nights in the 12 bed dorm". Our first night... More

Me and my friend stayed there for just one night and it was one night too much. Everything else was booked out so we had to get a 10 Dorm Room. It was dirty and smelled really bad which is probably not the fault of the owner but anyway. The bathroom and the kitchen were okay. At the reception we... More

We originally booked to stay here on hostel world at $23 a night per person and we booked for a week. However when we arrived the very rude owner said that he could only allow us to have the $23 a night for the first 3 nights and then would have to increase for the other 4 days. As we... More

You don´t feel very welcome if you arrive the silver fern hostel. Perhaps it was because I was too early for check-in. I met a very bored staff member at the reception who even didn´t look up to me when I arrived but continued reading his book. After I introduced myself he answered very shortly that check-in is at 11... More

This place was not a great hostel. It was a bed but the rooms were dirty, the internet was awful and there was only one staff member that actually smiled at me over my three day stay. I was given the wrong key after a half hour wait and then had to wait another 20 minutes to be given the... More

I was there and I wish I could say the internet is bad, but there is no internet connection. I stayed there for 2 nights and I booked only because of the internet, but there are more than 20 shared rooms and a internet server for only 20 users!!! Awful! The noise is terrible even to a backpacker. Saturday, until... More

I was recommended this hostel by the I-site staff who said it was one of the best in Auckland. They were correct, friendly staff, well maintained, good kitchen and bathrooms. Bedrooms were spacious and clean with good door locks. Location is central near Sky city casino and Aotea Square. The airport bus passes near by. Wi-Fi was free and quite... More

Good location close to main bus station. Staff were helpful able to book a trip to Hobbiton and be picked up on site. Hostel was clean and comfortable , the lounges were nice and had nice pictures on the walls. Other guests were very friendly , seems a lot of people stay here if they get jobs in Auckland. Wifi... It was a clean and friendly hostel with very comfortable beds. Good layout with lots of facilities. The kitchen was very spacious with plenty of fridge space. Location is good near Aotea Square and many food courts and cafes nearby. It's not too noisy but police cars do zoom down the road outside with their sirens on.
