Stayed one night here in September for convenience sake( close to rellies). Nice and quiet but starting to show its age. Easy check in and check out, still has the Scottish gentleman! We were in a studio room and found the heater quite sufficient. It was just a quick overnight stay so didn't try any of the amenities but the... More

I stayed here in Mid July 2014 in a Chalet, 1 Queen Bed room. The room was nice and clean and checking in was easy. The heating in the room was very poor (note I do not feel the cold much but many would find the room very cold). I recommend a fan heater rather than a single element heater... More

The accomodation is repulsive. I feel ripped off. The first night we were in a studio apartment. The heat was unbearable, no air conditioning. Not even a fan. We were gasping for air - I fell asleep at about 2am after tossing and turning. The second night we moved to a chalet. To call it a chalet is a bit... More

When we checked in we were greeted by a lovely Scottish couple, who were really friendly and welcoming, but I doubt they own the place. The first impression is a lovely bush setting and nice accommodation. Don't be fooled, for the price it is definitely not worth it! We stayed in a spa room for $190pn, as it was the... More

First off, I am not one of those people who writes hate filled reviews, this is the 1st poor rating I have ever given: After an online search for ``Hotels close to Auckland airport`` my fiancee booked this thinking she booked the Fernz lodge airport location. The Fernz lodge location on Birkenhead was 35 minutes north from the airport, right... More

Stayed above the conference centre, apart from a broken toilet seat..rooms comfortable..Lovely and quiet, a gem to stay on the north shore , not everyone wants the hustle of Aukland, but it is all so accessable from here.. Beautiful bush surrounds.. Not advertised for some stupid reason and i hear it has been sold to turn into a retirement home..... More

Stayed here for business. We stayed in rooms in the conference centre. The rooms had a modern feel to them. Beds were quite hard. My colleagues had uncomfortable nights sleep as I did. Not sure if the other people staying in the conference centre were short term or long term visitors, but there is little sound proofing and they were... More

We got married at Fernz, it was a perfect venue, everything was looked after very well, the guests were taken care of, the food was amazing, and Jill and her team did such a wonderful job of taking care of us. We and our guests wanted for nothing, and many of our guests stayed in the accommodation, saying it was... More

Before I start I want to say that I really liked this hotel it would be certainly adequate for a long weekend away. This being said the Fren lodge is rated as a 4star venue, it has a main hotel which is surrounded by chalets, the chalet I stay in was a twin bed which contained to single beds a... More

Very clean and spacious bungalows with easy access to Auckland. Small kitchenette, including refrigerator was very convenient to have snacks and breakfast available for the kids. Beach and beautiful views were just around the corner!
