Super friendly and helpful staff, nice big kitchen, living area with comfy sofa's, nice bathrooms and clean rooms. We would definitely stay here again! It's only 10 minutes on the bus from Queen Street which is really convenient.

- Not a party hostel, in fact it seems to be a house that was renovated into a hostel - Parking space in the front which is free - The staff are nice and approachable - The distance to the city's downtown area is about 20-30 minutes walking - There is a dormant volcano nearby (mount Eden) which is also... This hostel is pretty much a big old house. It is great! The receptionist is friendly and the rooms and bathrooms were good. Kitchen and dining room are spacious. Good off-street parking and about 10 minutes driving away from downtown. There is free wifi.

This place is brilliant, a fantastic old house on the outskirts of Central Auckland (about a 40 Min walk from Queen street and the harbour) which means it's out of the bustle, but easy to walk into. The manager, Andrew, was super-helpful. They have a very chilled cat, and a slightly loopy Choc Lab!

I've stayed for 7 days and the place is really nice. A lot of the guests were there on "longterm" basis and was often occupied with their own business, so if you are looking for a party place with alot of crazy people this might not be your place.. The location is good and quit, near Mt Eden and not... More

Best place to start your stay in New Zealand. The crew is there to help you with anything (visa, bank account, travel tips, etc.). The place is relaxing and your can have lot of fun with the other backpackers. Thank you Andrew for those awesome werewolves games! Thank you Rebecca for your tips about auckand! We stayed in a twin room. Pros: - parking - towels provided - wifi - laundry facilities - good size twin room - quiet Things to be aware of: - our beds were uncomfortable - takes a good 45 minutes to walk into the centre of Auckland - we didn't mind walking so ok for us - kitchen is generally... We are pleased you enjoyed our free parking which hostels downtown can't offer. Being 3km or a 10 minute bus ride to the city is well advertised and most guests are prepared for this. Mattress preference is an individual thing but our innerspring mattresses which are all quite new and from NZs largest mattress manufacturer receive positive comments from most... More

We stayed in one of the pre fab bungalows out the back, which were quite expensive (about $90 for 2 of us) but worth it. The room was clean, well equipped (fridge, kettle, towels etc.) and had a good ensuite bathroom. The kitchen was good and had plenty of equipment. The hostel overall is very nice, it feels like a... We are pleased you enjoyed staying in Mt Eden which is considered a historic neighbourhood and is a peaceful haven from the nearby city. Guests enjoy the free parking and being able to get the bus into the city without having to worry about the traffic or the cost of parking downtown. More

I am not someone to usually write reviews but I was so pleasantly surprised by this spot that I decided to show my appreciation. Place is in a great location; close to the CBD but distant enough to have a quiet night's sleep. I only stayed here for one night but found a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a very clean... More

Thanks for that. We offer something different from the CBD hostels and hope that we can show a different side of Auckland. We are only 3 km from the Centre of downtown with a good bus service and lots of local shops and cafes. More

I was really impressed with this hostel. We mainly dealt with manager Andrew who was professional, polite and friendly which is such a refreshing change! I slept really well in my room - the hostel is big enough for people who like to drink/stay up late to do so without infringing on others who want to sleep. There's doors between... More

Thanks for your suggestions we are constantly trying to improve the way we do things. There are already DVDs available at reception unfortunately they disappear if left out. We have also tried free tea and coffee but it became very expensive as guests filled up their jars to continue their travels. There are a variety of herbs, spices, oil, sugar,... More
