I stayed here for 2 nights early in February at the start of an Exodus trip. This hotel is well located for city activities, though too close to a mission hostel (for homeless) for comfort! The rooms are of an acceptable standard, with friendly reception and dining room staff. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

Used this hotel as a base for couple days before the start of a NZ tour. Checked us in early, which was great and also gave us a nice bottle of wine as celebrating our wedding anniversary. Great location in city centre and staff were very helpful. Nice room though Air con very noisy and don't bother with the breakfast... More

Excellent value hotel in central location. Walkable to the airport shuttle bus stop and into town. Comfortable room, very attentive staff. This seems to be about the only mid-range option in Auckland.

The Hobson Hotel, was clean, an awesome location, with a delicious little eatery inside!! The staff were pleasant & helpful. When I return to Auckland, in the future, I would definitely stay here again!! The room was spacious, with a nice view. A free hour of wifi, each day!!!

Large room. The beds were very comfortable. There was a portable Air Con machine. Noisy if you like to sleep with air con on but it was fine for me as I always switch it off before going to bed. Location is not bad, 5 minutes walk downtown. The breakfast was good, not the standard westerns breakfast but it was... More

We stayed at the Auckland city hotel twice ; the first time was excellent, we had a large room with all the facilities we needed and the bed was very comfo. The hotel is very well situated, close to the sky tower and the centre of the city. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room we had the... More

We were pretty much forced to stay here due to lack of accommodation in Auckland. It is in a seedy part of Auckland. Rooms have no air con and walls are paper thin. To stay cool you need to open windows and therefore also let in the street noise!! To add insult to injury they charged $599 per night! Unbelievable... More

Stayed here for 2 nights upon arriving in New Zealand. The hotel is well situated in the heart of the city and close to all tourist attractions. A walk outside the hotel takes you to eateries, convenience stores, Skytower and shopping alleys. Rooms are well made. Service levels were upto the mark and the breakfast was a decent spread.

Stayed at this very nice hotel for one night before collecting our motorhome and it was fine for this purpose. The main shopping (Queen Street) and harbour area with bars and restaurants are an easy walk from this hotel. Very presentable and comfortable rooms as would be expected in an establishment such as this. All the floors, except the first... More
