We spent 5 nights here at the end of our 5-week trip and it was a perfectly relaxing way to end our holiday. The lodge is perched high above beautiful coastal scenery and offers privacy and all home comforts in stylish surroundings. Our hosts, David and Mary went out of their way to meet our every need and Min the... More

This was our first stop over for 3 nights for our honeymoon. The place is simply stunning - the views across the ocean are spectacular! The hosts/owner David and his partner Mary were lovely and completely accommodating! We really enjoyed their company! Min the chefs food is so good! We had two dinners there and loved them. Breakfast in the... More

What an experience, a great private lodge sitting on top of the mountain to give a view over the bays which are mesmerizing it was good to have a 4x4, the steep road up was easier with that rented car, anyways, large rooms with a contemporary interior, bright fresh colours, large windows, super bathrooms , big balcony and terrace plus... I intended to write this review when we returned home from New Zealand but got distracted planning our next trip. Last night showing friends pictures from our trip and seeing again the spectacular view from the deck of Huntaway Lodge where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner, reminded me I never wrote a review on this fantastic lodge. The second to... More

You arrive in Paradise. Big and nicely furnished house and rooms. Diana is a wonderful host, Victoria a great chef. The views stunning. We were really spoilt and felt like home. Kauri Cliff is only 10 minutes away. We surely go back to Huntaway Lodge and highly recommend this unique Lodge

Huntaway Lodge was our first stop on our honeymoon. We were astounded by the beauty of the Bay of Islands and Huntaway's location atop a hill allowed us to enjoy fantastic views from our light-filled room, private balcony, and the lodge's porch dining area. While it has a remote feeling, Huntaway is walking/jogging distance (though a steep track!) from several... More

We have just returned from three nights at the Huntaway lodge and could not have been more impressed. The accommodation is comfortable, stylish and spotless, but the highlight was both the hospitality of out hosts, Victoria and Diane, and the fantastic meals we had each night. We instantly felt at home here, and nothing was too much trouble for our... More

We stayed at Huntaway for three nights at the end of our holiday in New Zealand - having stayed at a number of luxury lodges. Huntaway was definitely up there with the best of them. Wonderful views, great service and delicious food. But what really made our stay was Victoria (the lodge host), who was so welcoming, vivacious and helpful.... More

A group of 4 guys did two weeks of golf in New Zealand. The lodging highlight of the trip was Huntaway Lodge. The rooms were perfect, and the view incredible. The owner and the chef did a great job on breakfast, and when we asked if they could do dinner, they were all over it. The owner, Diane, even went... More

What more can I say about a place that has a 100% excellent rating? Comfortable room (we stayed in the Te Ngaere room, which is the best views over the bays and islands, its own balcony and a bit more privacy. The view from the spa (jacuzzi) is breathtaking. Our host, Victoria, was wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable as she's from... More
