Jan & Barry Parsonage (UK) stayed here in February 2014 and were very impressed with Toni who helped us by booking our ferry crossing, onward accommodation and recommending a great local restaurant. Self contained unit was very comfortable and good location near the river.

Looking for a single night stay en route to camping in the South Island we decided on a gypsy cabin for the night, rather than unpacking the tent. Great wee room with double bed below and single on top. Pillows & sheets provided. The cabin also had a table and 2 chairs plus crockery, kettle & toaster, cutlery and pots... More

We stayed one night with our van in this park. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. I think we had the best sanitary facilities of our trip in this park. Very clean and new. An the showers had heatings! The kitchen with the dining area was very nice.

We stayed in one of the newer units in October. It was very modern and comfortable, in a tranquil leafy location near the stream and yet 5 minutes walk from the centre of town via a nice bush walk. The children enjoyed the play area on site. We didn't know anyone staying in the older units on site but they... More

Our family of four (kids aged 4 and 6) stayed in one of the Cabins for 4 for a weekend. The cabin was clean, very warm and comfortable. It's the first time we've stayed in this type of accomodation, without an ensuite or kitchen, but we didn't need it. It was a little walk to the shower/toilet block, the kitchen... More

I was expecting decent but this was seriously high level. The motel unit was obviously recently done over and the layout is perfect for young families, with 2 singles in the separate bedroom and queen bed in the living area. The 2 shower heads (1 a rain shower) was an awesome surprise. For anything similar sized/quality in the area you... More

Have stayed at this park a few times now - stayed years ago in the 2 bed motel units- very modern but obviously more pricey Recently stayed in one of the 3 little studio units - at the end of the park - in the bush by a stream - lovely area - outside seating - even in winter you... More

Spent two nights here in a studio unit. Very clean and well presented. Awesome shower. The staff had turned our heater on so it was great to walk into a lovely warm room Thanks. The studio units are set in a private corner of the park by the stream with outdoor tables which would be awesome in summer.

Our motel unit was quite new, the fittngs and decor very modern. They looked lovely but the layout with the bedroom being in the living area and other guests having to walk through to get to bathroom was not ideal. And the taps were extremely noisey - if you washed your hands in the night everyone was woken! The shower... More

Compared with the other top 10 sites the facilities were pretty basic. The kitchen and dining provision was very small and would struggle to cater for peak season crowds. it was good that the site was close to town so you can grab a takeaway and a beer if you want. the site is close to woods and a stream....
