This is a newish, modern two storey property with great sea views. There are separate decks upstairs and downstairs. The proprietor, Glennis McSherry, is very welcoming, warm and friendly, whilst being a true professional and making all her attention to detail appear effortless. There is one bedroom upstairs and two downstairs. The downstairs has its own lounge and bathroom ensuring... More

Can't think of enough superlatives to describe this amazing experience. A beautiful, immaculate house with a superb view of the harbour from your own balcony. Glennis is a truly wonderful hostess and her 'co-host' Freddy is a lovable small dog who will make you feel like royalty. While Glennis is a wonderful cook, there is also a great little country style... I really enjoyed my stay. There was a great welcome from Glenys and a wonderful meal. The house is large and luxurious and meticulously maintained. I had an upstairs bedroom with a wonderful view of the harbour. This is a very special place. I hope to return soon. More

Warm generous hospitality from the hostess, who goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. Fabulous location with wonderful views across the bay and a beautiful home. Fred the dog available for 'walkies' and what a wee darling he is. Highly recommended. More

McSherry's is up on a hill, close to Onerahi airport and about a fifteen minute drive from central Whangarei. My girlfriend and I were visiting the area mainly in order to dive the Poor Knights marine reserve and although it took us at least 45 minutes to drive to and from the diveboat in Tutukaka, we did not mind at...
