We called in for dinner after seeing the Giants in Perth. All the restaurants were packed and we saw this hotel had a few seats. It was a really old hotel upstairs and this is where you had to go to use the bathroom. Apart from that we had a nice meal which wasn't overpriced. Other people did complain about... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We arrived at 8.45am from the cruise ship and the reception staff were very welcoming and took our luggage and stored it until we could go to our room in the afternoon. The carpet and furnishing are a bit on the tired side but you are staying in the CBD at an... More

Pricey, poor service, really ordinary food served with a "couldn't care less" attitude. Certainly won't be going back. Lots of better options within walking distance. Steak was over cooked, pepper sauce was yuk. Partner had chicken, hated it.

I stayed 5 nights. It's an older hotel in a central location. The rooms are a good size, about 20 x 15 feet. Plumbing, etc works although the AC was loud. The location is central and the price is low. After that it goes downhill fast. The staff are dismissive. The WiFi is almost as slow as dial up. I've been... More

Hotel is located at the hay street, one of the most touristic streets in the perth CBD. You had access to everything but hotel itself is unpromising. It is so old and most of the futniture need to be retired, hotel staff behaviour was friendly and sleep quality was good but there was no internet at room. This hotel is... More

The location of the hotel I liked most. The Airport Connect bus stops at the corner of the hotel (from any terminal, one way AUD15), any day tour bus will stop there too. The hotel is within 1 min walk to the shopping district, Opera, within 2 min walk to the Perth train station, Barrack Jetty and St. Jeorge Cathedral.... More

Very basic, in quite a poor state of repair. Bed was horrible, soft and saggy! Glad we only booked for 2 nights. Welcome drink was house red\white wine which was awful! dinner was just nearly edible! Reef and beef steak was definitely not worth the cost! Even the carbonara was bad, who can mess that up? Seems they can, pasta... More

I think this hotel is very run down and would not recommend it to anyone. The only good thing was its location but we found another hotel at the same price in the city centre which we moved to. We got a bedroom with 3 very narrow single beds for a husband and wife.

Good central location, comfortable rooms, view was a brick wall ( but who spends their holiday in hotel room), wifi was hit and miss. Would recommend as a base. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms cleaned everyday, tea and coffee replenished daily.

Be it business or tourism purposes the Criterion is an excellent stopover. Centrally located for city browsing or business. Easy access for outer areas with nearby Trains and Buses. A gentle walk to stretches of green green grass and the sensational Swan River.
