For the tariff we payed we considered we got value for our money, compared to other prices of hotels, the room as very clean, breakfast was good, good choices and generous servings. Some minor maintenance issues, the door knob into the room was faulty and we advised reception on our first day of a four day stay but it was... more

I only stayed one night here as a treat after being in the city for a conference (and staying at a pretty average hotel for work). It was an absolute delight. I got a great pakage deal online with breakfast, best available room and 1/2 price parking. OK, I had to park my car myself in some old hire car... more

After reading some of the reviews here I was apprehensive booking The Melbourne Hotel but it was the best of the affordable ones we could find in Perth. The hotel was lovely, our room was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The daily cleaners were very discrete and efficient. The location was great - a 15 minute... more

I was in Perth for work in September and had my last free night back in Perth before flying back home. I wanted to stay at the Travelodge again where we had stayed earlier in our trip but it was booked out. Therefore, I booked the Melbourne because it was meant to be a 4 star, in the heart of... more

Stayed here literally for one night, but thought it was in a great place in town, the room had 2 large double beds, which were very comfortable, the room was huge considering, a TV with a lounger, restaurant looked great downstairs, although didnt get time to eat there. The hotel itself from the outside is fantastic, beautiful old building, more of... more

A value for money, old world style hotel. staff very friendly & helpful. They had messed up our reservation, but accomodated us with absolutely no fuss at all. very well located. a bit noisey in the mornings with outside traffic & other guest leaving their rooms. more

This is a good hotel, but there are odd quirks. In general, the staff appeared friendly and efficient but awkward. The Cafe serves a great Eggs Benedict. That internal room without windows has to go. Claustrophobic. The bathroom extractor fan is deafening. The airconditioning (vital in an internal room in summer) in my internal room was too loud, and the... more

This place is fantastic, the food was well above average for a bar meal, cafe staff very friendly and the manager on duty (Tim i think his name was) was very helpful in helping point out local attractions and helped us with everything we needed. I will be returning to this hotel next time i am in Perth. more

As I sit here watching items on my table dance around from the rock concert going on under my room, I wonder where I went wrong taking the advice of Lonely Planet. What seemed a nice hotel on check-in quickly became a joke as soon as we opened the door to our room (#120). Unusually dark due to the drawn... more

We recently stayed at the Melbourne hotel as we were attending a function in the city. The hotel is in a very good location, the room was clean, bathroom was spacious. Decor is a little old now, and I think a lot of the character in the rooms was lost in hotel sameness, not quite what I was hoping for.... more
