The best backpackers (although I use the term backpackers losley as it felt more like a grand victorian home) I have ever stayed in. So peaceful. I arrived from the UK after the airline I flew with lost my luggage! However when I arrived at Northlodge I was pleasantly greeted by Francis who assured me everything would be ok (she... More

I stayed one week in a large and confortable room. My room had tv, kettle, toaster, fridge and micro-wave. Everything was clean and fresh. The place is very quiet and situated very close to library, museum and art gallery. Supermarkets are close by and close to restaurants. The reception was very helpful with advice about places to visit. There is... More

Not at all impressed with this hostel. Thought would be alright after reading some past review. We arrived late at night only to be greeted by a cockroach in the bathroom. The shower was cold and the room was very cramped. Was meant to stay for 4 nights but left after the first night. Was not happy with being charged extra for... More

I stayed in a private ensuite room for two days. The room was spacious, had small bathroom, TV, big fridge, kettle, microwave, kitchen sink, mirror over kitchen table, couch, two tables, two chairs and a queen sized bed that wasn't too comfortable. The room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. At the time when I... More

This hostel is a place that differs from other backpacker accomodations (in a good way!). It's very friendly, you don't have problems with aggressiv guests and the service that you get for the price that you pay is wonderful. Nearly every room has it's own television and you can use the shared bathrooms alone. It's very clean and you get... More

The owner should think about selling up. The room was shabby, the bed sheets unwashed, the ensuite door had to be lifted into the closed position and there is no WiFi. I'll give one star for location. But I would advise you to go elsewhere as it won't be much more expensive.

I booked into this place off reviews alone and i wasn't disappointed. The place is an amazing colonial style old building. It is a short walk from Perth train station and North bridge area and is also accessible via the free bus from the city centre. The proprietress is an absolute charm too! The room was warm and inviting and... More

Francis was very helpful and was lovely throughout our stay-she suggested places to visit as well with a free map and advice. The room was nice, comfortable, and quiet. The location was perfect as its walking distance to the city and also the CAT bus stops. Highly recommended for backpackers!

We found Francis at the Northlodge to be exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. The room was lovely, spacious, clean, and quiet, with fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave. The balcony was wonderful. The laundry was especially welcome. Joy and Robert

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
North Lodge offers safe, quality and quiet budget accommodation. We are a small hostel with a quiet, restful atmosphere for travellers. We are not a party hostel. North Lodge is situated about 5 - 10 minutes walk from the center of Perth City and is close to all of the major public transport facilities. We have a range of different types of rooms from dormitory accommodation, double and single rooms to apartments with ensuite facilities. The usual configuration of our self-contained apartment rooms is one double bed and 1 or more single beds, so some are able to cater for up to 4 people. Most of our self-contained rooms that have ensuite facilities also have a microwave, TV, toaster, kettle and small fridge. ... more   less
