This is a great place to stay in the non-Cable-Beach end of Broome. It's a place with a wonderful history, and in its current incarnation as a B&B, it's well worth a visit. With only 8 rooms, it's got a feeling of exclusivity to it - and enables the welcoming hosts to add that more personal touch. We stayed in... More

overall a lovely place to stay and the staff very pleasant BUT our 2 BR suite had extremely poor lighting in the living area.... impossible to read a book while sitting in a chair. outdoor spa was very pleasant and lovely outdoor table to sit and have a drink in evening with our friends .

If you want a hotel with all night discos, multiple restaurants, bars and wall to wall waiters - don't go to Mc.Alpine House. But if you want to experience a palm shaded oasis of calm, relaxed, space in a setting of luxurious old world charm - you can do no better in Broome. This small complex of only 8 very ample... More

McAlpine House was the original home of Lord McAlpine and has been extended and modified as a restful guest house set in tropical gardens round the pool. Our Library 2 room was quite small with very comfortable bed, bathroom with shower and good fittings - there was a large verandah area with very comfortable outdoor seating, as there is throughout... We had a very peaceful & relaxing weekend. The rooms are beautiful and the setting is very private. The managers are helpful & friendly and We would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Broome away from the hustle & bustle.

Lovely old style accommodation with tropical gardens and birds. Very relaxing and lovely staff. We had to stay an extra night due to the cyclone flooding and the staff were very friendly and helped us to our needs. Nice continental breakfast of toasts and pastries and yoghurts and fruits, with plunger tea and coffee - all you need to start... More

I felt like it was my own house and garden, I was really relaxed after a couple of days. The lovely gardens and pool area are a fantastic feature, complements to the previous owners. At dusk the fruit bats proved to be noisy companions, dropping mangos but missing us every time. The light breakfast did the job, anything more would... More

We stayed in one of the Pearler rooms at the McAlpine House for 6 nights. Our holiday was really fantastic, and the hotel certainly helped us to enjoy ourselves. However, there were quite a few things that we found either odd or disappointing. We had arranged to be collected from the airport when we arrived. However, on arrival there was... More

We found our room to be superb!! The bed was so very comfortable with gorgeous timber furniture. We could easily have moved in permanently, lol Cottage B&B with pool/garden centerpiece ~ the lounges around the pool were a treat. Breakfast in the garden gazebo was nice. Our only negative feedback is that we got told check-in was 2pm on our... More

The property is absolutely fantastic, colonnial style of the early 20th century, with a pool surronded by the three buildings, and a garden in the other side, under a mango tree. We stayed three days in Library Retreat 2, just at the final of the peek season, with few guests, the whole B&B was almost exclusively for us, the pool,... More
