We had a very peaceful & relaxing weekend. The rooms are beautiful and the setting is very private. The managers are helpful & friendly and We would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Broome away from the hustle & bustle.

Lovely old style accommodation with tropical gardens and birds. Very relaxing and lovely staff. We had to stay an extra night due to the cyclone flooding and the staff were very friendly and helped us to our needs. Nice continental breakfast of toasts and pastries and yoghurts and fruits, with plunger tea and coffee - all you need to start... More

I felt like it was my own house and garden, I was really relaxed after a couple of days. The lovely gardens and pool area are a fantastic feature, complements to the previous owners. At dusk the fruit bats proved to be noisy companions, dropping mangos but missing us every time. The light breakfast did the job, anything more would... More

We stayed in one of the Pearler rooms at the McAlpine House for 6 nights. Our holiday was really fantastic, and the hotel certainly helped us to enjoy ourselves. However, there were quite a few things that we found either odd or disappointing. We had arranged to be collected from the airport when we arrived. However, on arrival there was... More

We found our room to be superb!! The bed was so very comfortable with gorgeous timber furniture. We could easily have moved in permanently, lol Cottage B&B with pool/garden centerpiece ~ the lounges around the pool were a treat. Breakfast in the garden gazebo was nice. Our only negative feedback is that we got told check-in was 2pm on our... More

The property is absolutely fantastic, colonnial style of the early 20th century, with a pool surronded by the three buildings, and a garden in the other side, under a mango tree. We stayed three days in Library Retreat 2, just at the final of the peek season, with few guests, the whole B&B was almost exclusively for us, the pool,... More

I had heard about Lord McAlpine and his contribution to Broome, so when I finally made it to Broome I had to stay in what once was his home -- a converted & extended old pearler's cottage. We were given one of the Library Rooms which are quite small and a bit disappointing. I would still stay here again but... More

This is an intimate guest house with only about 9 rooms with great charm and character. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the "McAlpine Suite" for 2 nights, and just loved it - big airy room with a huge bathroom and large comfortable fourposter bed, and lots of furniture. Our room led onto a shady verandah and then to... More

This house dates back to 1915 and was extensively renovated by Lord McAlpine in the 1980's. we arrived in the morning and were met by the delightful Arielle, who manages the place. With about 12 rooms, and surrounded by a garden of rain forest, complete with exotic parrots, this place really is an oasis in Broome. We stayed in one... More
