We stayed at the Broome Bird Observatory as my 9 year old daughter who loves birdwatching wanted to stay there for her birthday. The camp hosts were very friendly and the bush camp site was lovely. The amenities were very interesting full of frogs and the place was alive with wildlife. The camp hosts are helpful but don't advise on... More

If you want Caravan Park style camping then go into Broome. The BBO is set up for tents and camper trailers ie small sites, no on tap water and no power. However this is just the way we like it. Clean facilities that you share with the wildlife (frogs) and access to the shade house overlooking bird ponds. Our fifth... More

Really enjoyed ourselves here. The staff were great and the bird drive /tours were excellent!! Although the cabins were of basic standard, they were clean and the shade house offered a wonderful vantage for watching birds and wallabies drinking on the property. Close to the beautiful beach area and providing clean toilet and shower facilities. I am hoping to get... More

Stayed at the BBO for a week on one of their birding courses with 7 other people. The BBO is run by a warden and 2 assistant wardens plus some volunteers. Accommodation is either in a bunkhouse style (see photo) or on un-powered camp sites. Ablution block is basic but all you need, with a separate Pen & Cob toilet... More

Enthusiastic welcome, extremely knowledgable staff and peaceful site. Birds were good as well. We were taken to the coast and then inland. Good fun and felt safe and cared for. Worth doing in a small group.

We enjoyed two wonderful and peaceful nights of camping. Very clean facilities, and friendly caretakers. Worth the drive in on a rather bumpy muddy track. Great spot for both birders and non-birders, you can't beat the mellow vibe.

We loved it here. We camped for two nights (for about $45 per night for four of us, I think) and wish we could have stayed longer. The observatory is at the end of a long red sand road, right by Roebuck Bay, a beautiful arc of orange sand and low cliffs, full of wonderful birdlife. The pitches are gravelly... More
