My wife and I shared the daily special, the grilled thread fin salmon, for lunch. It was good, with yummy baked potatoes and veggies but came with too much hollandaise sauce. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our visit in the relaxing breezy back area and made use of the fast wifi.

The Roey Hotel is situated in the heart of Chinatown, Broome. When the temperature gets hot in the afternoon, this is the place to head to for a refreshing drink. A good part of the hotel is open where the breeze can flow through, and some areas have fine sprays of water misting on and off from above where you... More

Good cold beer $9 a pint, super slow service. The bartenders have all of their bits out after like 2 pm so it's mostly working men in there having a cheeky look. Some pinball games and stuff if ur not looking at the bartenders. We had fun but it's not luxury.

They lost my booking made by email, so I was given one of the rooms in the covered alley (mrs 21 and 22, beware), no daylight, no fresh air, backing on to the bar, so noisy. The pool was quite dirty. In general, most of the rooms will be dark.

We stayed here for one night in January. I had booked Roey because of the cheap price after having to splash out previous week in Melbourne. Arriving on Sunday in the middle of the wet season Broome was like a ghost town and the hotel the same. Our room was very dark and in a need of a bit of... More

I ordered the pork belly with Thai style greens, have had this before and it was nice the first time so I thought I'd get it again as I knew I liked it. This time round though it was far from pleasant, the chef had taken the skin off the pork belly and I was left with a thin piece... More

We had dinner on a Monday night so our 7 year old ate free! The meals were huge and delicious. All the staff were genuinely friendly and best of all a large range of beer on tap and they came in icy cold glasses. Great for families, singles or couples

We were very pleasantly surprised to recently find the Roey and stay a night in a downstairs unit close to the pool. What a lovely place it is. The pool was great and although the security gate was a bit daunting it seemed quiet and safe enough. Our room was very serviceable and it was an easy walk to the... More

Our standard motel room was just that, and a little less. Plastic covers on the mattress & pillows felt awful and reminded me that we were staying somewhere seedy where there have perhaps been a lot of accidents. It's not unexpected being out the back of the Roey where all the nightlife happens in Broome, but the high price ($150/night)... More

Yes its on the flight path as most places in Broome are. The runway is in the middle of town. Have stayed here a number of times. Found the room was clean, pool and surrounds was probably while we stayed. A bed is a bed - comfortable and air conditioned. Running the aircon you will not hear the entertainment next... More
