Barn Hill was one of our best stays traveling around Oz, but you have to prepare yourself with the basics before staying, food, bread, milk, full water tanks, and if you have solar panels, or generator avail, then you will be able to stay in the best places, at the far end of the park, on the headland overlooking the... We loved the combination of red dirt and the beautiful beach. Probably not a spot for everyone as some people like spotless showers and no dust. But We had an unpowered site with magnificent views of the cliffs and beach.

Rustic campgrounds on a stunning beach. If you go between July and September it will be PACKED but there is a great Sunday roast with love music and a cute store with the basics and fantastic homemade vanilla slow and lamingtons. Sometimes you can order pizza and fresh baked bread as well, powered and unpowered sites, decent amenities

We totally loved our stay here and were sorry to leave. There was a 9km dirt and sand road into the park which took 25 minutes to drive, but wasn't as bad as we thought it might be and there are 3 gates to open on the way. There are 2 sides to this huge van park, one is lovely... More

We were lucky to find a roomy vacant unpowered camp site with an ocean view. Not much shade during the day but we spent most of our time on one of the two beaches, a five minute walk down the cliff. The showers and toilets were basic but clean and there is a washing machine too. We paid just $22... More

This was our first station stay and I have to say I expected something more familiar and not as big as this. Think you have to be 50+ to fit in with all the other campers. Most of them are there for weeks! So don't expect to get a nice ocean view spot. Or you have to arrive early and... More

Powered sites were shady but a bit tight. Showers and toilets were rustic but ok. Great location, we too were there on pizza night, good value and tasted great. They also bake their own bread each day but you have to be quick!

Stayed one night $22 on unpowered site along the cliff. Views were excellent we watched the sunset from our awning. Quite a stroll to the beach. Lovely water pools when tide was out. Interesting and different. Not a fan of the track in. We did it in a motorhome but couldnt go much over 20kph for the whole 10km.

I agree with Barbara W's review completely. The only good thing about the place was the beautiful beach. It is a pity the proprietors don't channel some of the proceeds of the site fees back into maintaining the amenities and the grounds. I won't be recommending Barn Hill Station to anyone

We'd heard good reports from other travellers on this place. The location is stunning, but compared to the long term stayers who seem to have more than their fair share of the lovely shaded areas, we tourists on the way to somewhere else get the dry, dustbowl at the northern end, with no shade and definitely no grass (unless you plant...
