The turnoff to Mount Elizabeth Station is 340km from Derby and another 30km or so to reach the Homestead. Travelling on the Gibb you will already know that it is 4WD access only. When we arrived we were provided with afternoon tea in the lush front garden surrounds. The accommodation is fairly basic in the rooms, with no TV or... More

The rooms are just okay but clean and the shared bathrooms also clean and just okay. You wouldn't go for that part though- as some of the other reviews noted the Wunnamurra Gorge and the helpfulness of the staff make it totally worth it. The gorge is beautiful with even a sandy beach and you can swim in it (croc... More

Our family of four (two teenagers) stayed in 2 rooms here just for one night on our trip along the Gibb River Road. The turnoff is about 25km onto the estate, past the airstrip and finally arriving at the station. There is no El Questro luxury - the accommodation is basic, with shared bathrooms - but the place was spotlessly... More

When you pitch your tent at Mount Elizabeth Station I recommend to do their trip around the cattle station. Pat and her staf don't give you a polished talk but speak from their hart. So you get a real insight of how life on a cattle station has been / has evolved over the past years. For people who want... More

I can see where previous negative reviews come from in terms of a certain frugalness to the property and welcome. It reminds me a little of guest houses of years ago before customer service reared its ugly head! Its a very unusual place, small lean-to cabins with shared bathrooms. Large station area with wallabies , horses and character. The hosts... More

We stayed here 4 days. It's a bit dusty and no powered sites, but they try hard to encourage grass cover and there's good shade. Their facilities are ok, there's hot water and wash up facilties, but a basic camp kitchen would be a good addition. Dinner at the homestead was pleasant and we enjoyed talking to Pat, but I... we just stayed for one night in the campground which was a bit dusty and the ablutions were in desperate need of an upgrade. dont expect hot water or water pressure, there are no washing machines. all that said it was still well worth the visit and you dont really visit the kimberlys for hot showers. there were lovely tall... We enjoyed our two night stay at Mount Elizabeth Station. As others have said, the rooms are very small, and have nothing in them except a couple of beds, a wardrobe and a bedside table. It's all very basic. Shared bathrooms are down the end of the accommodation block - and the two showers/toilets are shared amongst 7 (or so)... More

I have visited Mt Elizabeth Station for work many times but just over a week ago I went there as a tourist and took my troopie to the Wunnamurra Gorge. I was surprised so few people know about this as it's the best of the gorges I've been to (Windjana, Bell Creek, Galvins and Manning). It's even got a small... More

We wish we had stayed an extra day or two here. Basic but clean room, shared bathroom and home cooking. Shared dinner with the hosts and various staff. Very friendly and informative. Visited the gorge and art work, the mud map and tracks were well marked. I purchased the book of Frank Lacy, Peter's father "the rivers of home". Fascinating... More
