I stayed at the Formule 1 hotel one night with some friends for my birthday. When i went to check in the man that served me was rude. When i had called to ask if it was ok to pay on my mothers credit card they said yes but pay online so i did so. When i checked in he... More

I have stayed here several times before. On previous occasions, I checked in after 6pm, and was given a room facing other rooms. A little dreary. The rooms facing Elizabeth Street, however, are light filled, with a pleasant view of the Block Arcade, one of the wonderful historic shopping arcades just across the street. Hot water is available on Level... More

My wife and I stayed in room 313 during the Melbourne Grand Prix. The best thing about this hotel is the location, it is excellent . The hotel it self is basic. There is no early check in so they have lockers you can hire for $5 for 12 hours. We stayed in a bunk room, the worst thing about... More

Conveniently located, 5 min walk from Flinders St Station. Room was clean, very simple. Quite comfortable despite a couple of incidents. On my first stay in Jan-2009 during the Australian open, at 1am, while in bed, a drunk man attempted to enter my room, banging on the door and yelling. I rang reception, and the most they did was shoo... More

Stayed here in March '07 for the Grand Prix. At that stage the hotel had just been built which would account for some of the teething problems we encountered such as the lifts not working all the time. The twin share room was a decent size and contained a double bed with a single bunked on top against the wall.... More

Stayed in the Formule 1 in november 2009 on quick three day trip from NZ. Hotel is easy to find and was only a 15 min walk from the main bus/train station. Heaps of shuttles or trams to catch if the walk is too far. Upon arriving (at 10am) as rudely told that check in didnt start until after 2pm.... More

Stayed here with a couple of friends in Sept 2008. We booked this hotel mainly because the rates were cheap and the pictures made the rooms look big. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case. The rooms were super tiny without even a proper bathroom (it was merged with the room with only a shower curtain as a barrier). The inside of... More

Was traveling with family, 3 of us. Booked a standard room with 3 beds. However one bed is a bunk bed which is above the main double bed. To be fair this was the cheapest accommodation I could find in Melbourne at 99$ for all 3, but the room was a tight fit for the 3 of us. In hindsight... More

For the price of this hotel we were expecting more than backpacker style accommodation instead it was well below a value or budget hotel. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We had to make our own kids bunk beds twice, and the bedding supplied was minimal and poor quality. There was no hot water for 2 out of the 4... More

Dear "Not Recomended for Families" The F1's offer some of the best budget style, basic accommodation. They have very competitive inner city rates and usually offer great value for money. Accor offers a variety of accommodation styles, ranging from the very basic to beautifully appointed luxury hotels. I was very sorry to see in this instance that there was a... More

The location of this hotel is the good for almost anything you could think of. Be it food, shopping, entertainment or nightlife. you name it, you got it. And all these places could be reached on foot. I stayed there for 3 + 3 nights. The room size I got is reasonable, clean and with bathroom and toilet. It also... More
