The hotel was in a central location for shopping, sight seeing, trams & trains. The room service was poor. We had to ask for beds to be made (one bed would be made other not) bathroom & toilet to be cleaned. We had to ask for a kettle & teabags, the tele wasnt going & aircon kept turning off. Wifi... It has the basic amenities and a clean tiny room. Can't ask or expect for any more considering the price in central Melbourne (January holiday period during tennis). Great location. Musty smell around the corridors on level 7. For the purpose of our visit to watch the tennis and have a cheap place sleep & shower, I don't have any... More

I understand that this is a budget hotel (more like hostel) but it is still apart of the Accor brand and as such there needs to be standards. Firstly on check in the hall way smelt urine. Check in was fine and the girl on desk who was in training seemed like the only one who was actually willing to... More

I stayed here with my husband and a friend for another friends birthday. We stayed in the family room that had a double bed and one bunk bed. The room was very tiny and the shower was actually in the room with a curtain separating it from the bedroom. The location however was fantastic. 2 minutes walk to Flinders St... More

3 of us stayed for new years eve. The room was small, had a double bed and 2 bunks. It had a fridge with tea and coffee facilities. There was no hanging space for clothes only some hangers at the end of the bunks. The room was quiet even though it faced onto Elizabeth st..it was central to shopping and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
