I stayed on the 19 th (top floor) in a room away from the lifts. The lifts were very noisy the closer you get to them. The lifts go up to the 18 th floor, then you walk up a couple of short flights of stairs to access level 19. Anyone on level 18 can also get access to level... More

This hotel was booked by work so I have no idea what they paid. However out of the hundreds of hotels I've stayed in this is one of the strangest. On approach to my room the hall becomes a pebble garden with stepping stones. As I entered the room I saw a nice looking kitchen lounge with a smallish bed... More

After reading a number of the reviews on Trip Advisor for this property I was little uneasy with the accommodation our corporate travel manager had booked for me at this property. When I checked in Hayley on the front desk was fantastic, pleasant and really gave a great first impression of the property. The room I got was good (an... More

The oaks is a cheap business hotel with great rates. You need to watch out though for the suites that don't have a direct window to the outside. While that can be useful if you like a darkened room to sleep in, I'm not sure they are perfect for the psyche.

This hotel is well priced for a Melbourne CBD room. We stayed in a studio suite which suited us fine for the two nights. We were warm and comfortable. The kitchen is really well appointed. The room was clean and furnished with current trend style. Our room 1106 had a nice view over Collins Street and the beautiful buildings opposite.... More

Good location, clean and spacious rooms with kitchen facilities. The only problem is the bathroom. It looks like an afterthought in the design of these rooms. They are extremely small and the hand basin is one of those small rectangular basins that you typically find in a toilet. Makes it quite difficult to wash your hands and clean your teeth.... More

$190/ night and no horizontal surface in bathroom for your makeup? Room was clean enough. Staff efficient. One just feels it misses the mark on a number of things for a room with this price eg. Untidy valance around the bed base.

I had to make a quick overnight stay in Melbourne and was looking for something in the CBD that was 'inexpensive' and 'reasonable.. The Oaks was great value and the quality was much higher than i expected. I had stayed here approx 4 years ago and the room seemed less appointed then and costed more. The room i stayed in... More

Great place to stay for 9 nights. Rooms are super clean and quiet. Any problems were efficiently attended to by Olivia (in training) and Elina. Really busy reception but staffed so well to attend to everyone's needs quickly. If I wanted to be super picky, for a longer stay, it really needed a nice 2 seater comfy lounge chair to... More

Stayed on the Oaks on Collins a few years ago. It was an eye opener to come back and see how far it had fallen. The quality of the rooms and the "little" things were what suprised me. There was no remote to the TV, no mini bar, the soap holder in the shower was hanging on by a thread,... More
