Myself and 3 friends arrived at Nomads on a busy Saturday afternoon and realised we had made an error with our reservation. The two girls on the counter went out of their way to resolve the issue for us. They had a smile on their faces throughout and turned what could have been a very difficult situation into all 4... We stayed in one of nomads double rooms and got a really good price as we booked early online. No bad words to say really except that we weren't informed that cleaners would be coming in on the second day (!?) and got into our room as we were sleeping and recovering from jet lag having just arrived from London... As the saying goes "you get what you paid you for" the great thing about a hostel is you meet people and that can form great memories but in my opinion there are hostels and there are hostels - I don't expect 5 star but I guess it's the culture of people that stay at hotels and the attitude of... Great for a few days away and not too loud :) Relatively clean but could have been hoovered. Milk was taken from the fridge by other guests, so don't leave food around. Reception were very helpful. Public showers could be cleaner. Would come again

The hostel itself was average - not great, but not bad either. It was relatively cheap, especially considering the location (it truly was a fantastic location - walking distance from all major CBD attractions). The staff were friendly enough, and the hostel seemed to have quite a few facilities for backpackers. We stayed in a private room and it wasn't... More

The ideal place to stay when coming to Melbourne. It is right in the middle of the city, so incredibly easy it get around not only the city, but to the outer suburbs. Incredibly friendly staff who help make the stay even better!

Fantastic if you are going to Melbourne and don't want to pay mega $$ for a room you won't spend much time in. Easy parking as there is also a parking complex across the road. Didn't use any of the common rooms although looked in the cinema room. FILTHY! You could get pregnant off the smell of that room alone.... More

Would I stay here again ? Hmmm probably not, the staff are ok but the place it self is pretty average, nothing to talk about really. I didn't realise how cold Melbourne got best. Buy some warm clothes if your coming here this time of year brrrr.

Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are simple and beds are clean, bathrooms are alright, and WiFi worked everywhere, but was sometimes on and off. The only downside to this place is the terribly tiny kitchen and how loud and rowdy it gets at night while you're trying to sleep
