we stayed here in a 5 bed dorm but only had one other staying in the room so it was great. Kitchen is a bit small and not much room for storing foods. We stayed here for a week and it was great for walking into town and had an en suite for ease of showers and washing. would defo... more

Dear Jo, Thanks for taking the time to give us some positive feedback. Great to hear you had such a good time. We know the guest kitchen is a bit small for cooking and storing foods, that's why we are looking into extending our kitchen. We also have an outdoor BBQ area for guests to use. We look forward to...

Lovely hostel. Stayed in a private room which was HUGE!!! Had a tv and ensuite. Clean and modern room. Cool bar with outside terrace located downstairs. lots of internet access too. Didnt use the kitchen so cant comment on it. Location was ok. Short stroll or tram ride into centre. Would stay here again. more

I stayed for several nights in the Deluxe King with En suite and thought by the write up that it was going to be value for money. Unfortunately the money I saved has gone on Dr.s bills and Creams for the extremely bad bed bug bites i received..... A good nights sleep with no Bites in the morning "Priceless". For... more

Dear Kushm Our King Rooms are of a great quality, however bed bugs can be an issue in any accommodation. Ok so this hostel does have its down sides, the lift was temperamental, the kitchen is tiny, the beds squeak really loudly and they could do with somewhere other than the bar to chill out in, however, it is cheap, I was a Nomads member and paid $150 p/w during the summer months, I then did house keeping and got... more

Check in took 1/2 an hour because the staff couldn't work out the internet booking, seemed like it was too complicated and the booking wasn't made for the correct type of room, then I was asked to change rooms half way through my booking as they couldn't give me the same bed so I wasn't happy as I had to... more

After a long walk to it from the Interstate Train station, we were grateful for the free mug of Australian beer, fresh towels (no charge), and the clean comfortable room with a double bed. This Nomads is definitely head and shoulders above the rest. Located in North Melbourne, numerous restaurants are just two blocks east, the farmer’s market is two... more

I was very underimpressed by this hostel. They use the term 'Flashpackers' to describe the place but its anything but flash. If you're looking to stay in cheap accomodation you'd be much better off staying at a YHA. The lower level smelled like a brewery, the rooms were very basic, the showers etc. didn't feel particularly clean, the lift was... more

My husband and I stayed in both a double and a king room (both ensuite) for 6 nights in July 2008. From all the advertising this hostel does about being a “flashpacker” hostel, my expectations were quite high. I paid $115 for a king “suite”, which was described as being “like a hotel suite with a private bathroom and a... more

Found the hostel a bit disappointing... having heard so much about the 'flashpacker' style, i have to say i don't think this place really lives up to the reputation. the dorms were probably once great, but had gotten a little rough around the edges (things breaking and not being repaired etc), and much was made of the 'free evening meal'... more
