Awful, Receptionist had a face of a wet dog, didn't give a donkeys backside about welcoming us to the place, our room had bed bugs which they had no intention to do anything about it, changed the sheets and kept us in the same room, tv didn't work, mould in the bathrooms, stale bread a continental breakfast and one glass...

I arrived in Melbourne at the end of February this year to stay for a few days.i had intended
to stay at the St Arnaud as it looked very nice on the internet. However I was soon disappointed. The room was beautiful though it was quite a walk to the bathroom,
and the shower was DANGEROUSLY HOT.I nearly scalded myself badly.

We booked 2 tripple rooms for 4 nights there. The room we stayed has stale and very unpleasant smell. Looks like the bedsheet is not changed as it did not smell fresh. The wall there is no sound proof. The shower rooms there only 1 with hot water. The rest are cold water. Very noisy! You could hear people open...

Australian, stayed 5-6 times from countryside, most economic priced singlerooms, while working 2 days a week in Melbourne.

My real issue was bed bugs once, and "attitude" of manager/owner (maybe tired of hospitality...

Was a bit worried about staying at the hostel after reading some of the reviews and if you are looking for a flashy hostel with all the trimmings then this isn't the one for you. If however, you are looking for a hostel with a bit of charm and character then this is it. Stayed 2 nights and the free...

St Arnauds looks like a quaint little guesthouse brimming with character, warmth and relaxation..it is NOT..arriving to rude receptionist, english girl with all the charisma of a wooden chair and a face like a smacked butt, you are given your map of the hotel without the curtsy, infact you'd be lucky if she maked eye contact, shuffled into a single...

This hotel is old and smells old. My room however was ok. It was small but light and had a fridge. The bed was very soft and lumpy and not comfortable at all. They need too get new mattresses. The tram goes right by the window but it stops around midnight so it didn't disturb my sleep.
The free breakfast...

We loved this place.
Bathrooms could have been better but the double bed was a real luxury. If we were to go back to Melbourne - we would stay at the St Arnaud - for sure!!

Ripoff and a dump. My partner was given the distinct impression that the accommodation included a bathroom. The bathroom was shared and it was filthy. The room was cold and bare. The bed was lumpy and cold. I wouldn't board my dog there. On top of all that, we booked an airport transfer through their website. Upon receiving no confirmation...
