Great location for anyone looking for a Melbourne CBD hotel. The customer service was great from all staff we dealt with. Renovations made to the hotel were funky and modern. However we disappointed with the room temperature, even with the air con on through out the day and night we still felt hot through out the night. The quilt and... More

Great hotel in a an awesome location - right next to emporium and handy to tram stops for all your other shopping destinations that Melb has to offer! We were on the 5th floor at the back and had no issue with noise (it was white night too!) The room was two story with bedroom and bathroom up a steep... More

We stayed for four nights including a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The One bedroom apartment was generous with space with high ceilings and decorated with a nice touch of Melbourne themes and the kitchenette is handy. We were on the second floor on a side lane side above a bar and You can hear a little noise from... More

Just returned from a weekend here and was very happy with the accommodation. The position of this hotel is excellent for food and shopping, everything in walking distance. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, good size, comfy bed and pillows, everything you could need. The rooms appear to have had the lounge and bedroom areas recently refurbished with modern... I am about to stay in this hotel for the fourth time. It is an apartment stylle with a kitchenette which is good for the business traveller, as in my case. I have stayed in room #303 twice which is all on one level; kitchenette/lounge area, separate bathroom and separate bedroom. My last stay was on the first floor with... More

Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a central location without luxury trimmings. It is in the heart of the CBD with great access to public transport. It is clean, comfortable, very reasonably priced and staff are friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of major shops and Chinatown.

Stayed here for 5 nights to see some Australian Open tennis and do some shopping. There were 3 of us so we had an apartment with a lovely, comfortable king bed on the mezzanine and a pull-out bed downstairs - which was also rated as comfortable. We paid about $320NZ a night - way too much for what we got,... More

Breakfree has now been renamed as Mantra City Central effective 31/01/15. Great location just across the road from Myers and David Jones and close to China Town for tasty cheap eats. We stayed on the 1st floor apartments which are well equipped. The mezzanine floor does get rather warm but reception were very good and provided us with a fan.... More

Stayed here for a budget weekend for the football, We had 4 of us so got a 2 bedroom apartment, and yes the corridors were small, and 'pokey' the place was older, but the value was just so good, even had private rooftop access from the room, was perfect for what we needed.

Having never been to Melbourne before I wanted to stay somewhere close to the CBD. This place is perfect for that. Right smack bang in the middle of the CBD, I could catch trams going either direction with ease. The room was spacious, kitchenette adequate and Bathroom was roomy. The only negative thing about the room would be, the lounge... More
