Stayed here for 2 nights during the Australian Open, still a great price considering the time of year. Amazing location, right in the centre of the city, literally footsteps to Myer, David Jones, H&M and Emporium. The countless alley way cafes and restaurants are super close too. Paid for the heritage 1 bedroom loft apartment. Great room, would definitely ask... More

The hotel is a quaint one located not far from the mall but a bit of a walk to the docklands area and business hub. Rooms could use some work and reception isn't 24 hours. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Competitively priced even in peak times.

We stayed for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom loft on level one. Check in staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were on the smallish size but completely adequate with the rooms recently updated. Nice and clean on arrival with the bonus of separate air con in each room. The bedrooms and toilet/shower are upstairs so you have to lug your... More

We booked a short stay at Mantra City Central Melbourne and found a gem! This location is fantastic so central to shops, trams and food outlets. The one bedroom room we stayed in had great quality appliances such as Russell Hobbs Toaster and Kettle - or what a pleasure to use a Sunbeam Iron and ironing board - little things... More

Small with limited facilities but you can't beat the position. Located beside major shopping outlets and within walking distance of great Melbourne eateries. If space and great facilities are your priority this is not for you. Our 2 bedroom also had a rooftop sitting area, which was a pleasant surprise.

Centrally situated right alongside Melbourne Central Shopping Centre. Very near Hardware Street for restaurants. Lovely bar around the corner. Very nice room and spacious. Newly decorated. Minus point: you have to pay for Wi-Fi!

Room 513 right at the end of the walkway. Sleep wise ok, no disturbance like other users commented since room far from the mall/nightclub. whole apartment clean and tidy. only complaints... More

I am so impressed with the set-up of the rooms. I am happy I checked in. The staff are friendly. The rooms are furnishings are so clean and for a reasonable price. The location is a winner. One can just walk to places of interest and to trams stations. Chinatown is a plus. I will surely check in at Mantra... More

The location is central to everything I go to Melbourne for, Shopping, Food and Fun. The Staff are friendly and will do what they can to make your stay pleasant. The Rooms are a little cramp, but they are clean and comfortable. The normal expectations from a room are there. Tea, Coffee, Sugar, bathroom products etc.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
