Great facilities, rooms Clean and spacious. Staff helpful and knowledgeable on the area. Showers clean. Very modern, was nice to stay in a hostel that wasn't run down! Didn't get the chance to experience the bar so can comment on social aspects but if you are staying as a group or looking for a good nights sleep I'd highly recommend!

I found the hotel to be a confusing mix of budget and premium. It cost more than other hostels in Melbourne although you got a gym and jacuzzi at this place. Yet in some ways it just felt like a budget hostel. When I moved into my room it was covered in mess. Plus you had to pay for Internet... More

The hotel looked alright from the outside but It was actually worse than a hostel - The room was small and there was no air con. It was too stuffy in the room and sometimes too warm. Beds were small. The bathroom was filthy. Avoid it if you can.

The fact that i have visited every january now for 3 years and the experience is still great speaks volumes. This place always delivers. And now free wifi in the lobby/bar. . Good step forward. I think maybe the bar is due an overhaul but still love it.

Stayed here for a few nights so could explore Melbourne and watch some tennis at the Australian Open. Dorm rooms are very clean, with excellent sized lockers that offer great security. Good sized showers and never had to wait due to their being plenty on offer. Also within walking distance of most of the sights. Only downer is the lack... More

We booked this hotel on booking.com very last minute & seemed to get a good deal (it said it was about half the price cheaper than normal) which worked out about £45 a night for a private room The room was a good size & clean with lots of storage and a large bathroom, with fresh towels Hotel staff were... I've stayed in many hostels throughout the world during my time and this is by far and above the best. The facilities are fabulous - the decor is modern, there's excellent storage in the rooms for each guest and the bedside lights and individual power points for each bunk are well thought out. The gym (the fact there is one... More

My second time staying here. Best part was the tour desk, they can organise some great deals in advance of your arrival. The room pictures are accurate. However if you find it hard to sleep with air conditioning/heating running all night, you may have to skip this hotel, there's no way to turn them off.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
