Nice little place. Great food. Free Internet. Just around the corner from my companies Melbourne office so a nice short stroll home in the evening and a quickwalk to the office in the morning. more

We stayed at the Hotel Charsfield for 4 nights in March with our 4 year old as a base for our trip to Melbourne. The Hotel is lovely and quaint - looked like an old converted house with a billiard room etc. It is positioned in a busy road surrounded by office buildings and the downside for me was how... more

We srayed at the hotel for our weekend away from normal life. We arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She checked us in with great speed. We arrived at our room it was very clean and just what we were looking for. The hotel was very peacful and relaxing. All staff were friendly and... more

I am slightly bewildered at all of the other good reviews for this hotel (which we saw before we booked). We are Londoners, and used to staying in good hotels across the world. We were (based on reviews and the price) expecting something charming and high quality. Instead, the decor was faded (particularly in our room), the furniture was mostly... more

I have to start by telling everyone that is looking for a place to stay in Melbourne that this is such a special hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone looking at travelling to Melbourne. My husband and I chose this hotel after seeing it advertised in a travel magazine and booked it through the hotels website. From the... more

I booked two rooms in this hotel with a friend for Dec 30th and 31st, 2008 on a trip around Australia. We chose this hotel after looking at the website, thinking that it was a small hotel and perhaps therefore a nicer place to stay. It is located in a business district but with a tram stop right outside the... more

Arrived at the Charlsfield in Melbourne not tired but ready for a 4 day break in a degree of comfort having booked a suite, and asked for a view if possible. From the front the facade is one of oppulance, and the entrance is quite nice, but it stops there. The room we were given was a hike to the... more

I recently stayed at the hotel which proved great as I had business nearby. Taxi to the hotel from Skybus terminal was $12.50. (St Kilda Rd is just out side of the skybus courtesy hotel shuttle.) There was a nice restaurant just nextdoor and a quick walk to Commercial Road found a decent cafe or two. The hotel staff were... more

This hotel is a bit out of the "down town" area, but we liked it that way. All you have to do is get a day pass on Melbourne's transit system and you are set to go. The hotel is an okay four star. By that I mean, it is older, no lifts, etc. However, clean, charming and the staff... more
