We were slightly disappointed with our stay at the Charsfield, but this was only really down to our room, We had booked a deluxe double as these looked nice on the web site, but were given a junior suite on the ground floor at the back. This was not a nice room, the bedroom area and bathroom were cramped, there... More

We loves the small boutique feel of this hotel and personal attention to detail. On arrival we were greeted with a complementary drink and were able to sit on the front verandah and watch the world go by on St Kilda road. We chose here because we were attending a function close by. The old world charm came with a... More

Good location, 5 min team from city. Breakfast was mediocre... Some of it cold, beans and sausage a little anaemic. All staff were knowledgable and friendly. Room was really small but clean. Good value for money. Would stay again if on a budget. Not enough room to relax if on a long stay.

High ceilings, windows which open, stylish interior decor and furnishing, close to CBD and much else on one of the world's great boulevardes, trams at the door, professional courteous staff...sure, the rooms aren't huge, and most don't have much of a view (in keeping with many other hotels in Melbourne) but this must be balanced against the pluses: good restaurant,... Great location with lots of Trams to Catch in either direction. Made a few changes to bookings before stay and on check in and it was no problems. A layed back place with reading room and pool room great to stay in or explore.

This hotel reflects Melbourne where history sits alongside a modern city. This Hotel sits in a business district but is a little oasis. It reflects its age which was part of the charm for us and was a great and peaceful base for our stay. Easy access using the tram to the City, St Kilda and farther afield. Staff were... More

Booked in here for 4 nights and love the traditional building with all of the features of an older hotel. Spotlessly clean, and very fresh decor. Great breakfast not included in the price. Very close to tram stop 24 on St Kilda Road. Easy walk to Albert park and on to the beach. We would definitely come back here.

My friends and I just LOVED this beautiful Hotel. Only 5 mins from the CBD by tram yet the ambiance ,atmosphere and lovely garden gave you respite from the hustle of the city. The service was impeccable, the rooms as clean as a whiste(furniture- a bit of a mismatch) and no request was too much trouble. We especially appreciated the breakfast... More

The place is is somewhat dated, but the room is fine and reasonably priced. Nice breakfast, good and very friendly service in both the restaurant and reception. The wifi connection needs some improvements as it cuts off all the time.

Stayed for two nights in the Charsfield, most cab drivers don't know where it is but just tell them between Louise and Leopold streets on St Kilda Rd. Tram stop is just down St Kilda Rd and in walking distance. Roscoes on Chevron was near and is a very good bistro for dinner and open until late. Reception sells the... More
