Stayed here for a little under a week with a friend of mine. We stayed in a double room which, at first wasn't clean when we initially got there, but was later cleaned up by a very friendly lady who was quite pleasant to deal with. Sleep quality wasn't great because it felt like the walls of the room were... More

I spent about 5 days in green house at May 2009. The staff is helpful and i enjoy their Mega Melbourne Walking Tour. I also try my best ever pasta at their Tuesday dinner night.. Toilet is clean and satisfied. Location is very good. The bad thing is the room not really clean, a bit messy with all backpackers stuff.... More

This is a great place in Melbourne! They have too good service and absolutely FREE stuff - FREE internet, FREE breakfast, FREE dinner (certain day only) etc. Moreover the hostel do have activities planned almost everyday/night at a reasonable price for residents who stayed there. I met very good people here. All you-need-to-know about the hostel rules/procedures are clearly depicted... More

The Hostel was recommended to me and the recommendation was right. Best about this hostel is the location, its right at Flinders Street Station and you can take the free shuttle bus and the free city tram from there to get pretty much anywhere touristy in Melbourne for free. Besides that it´s a typical bigger Hostel with all the usual... More

I stayed here with my partner for one night in a private room. Pluses: - Cheap! - Clean room - Clean bathroom - Free breakfast - Awesome location Minuses: - Thin walls --> can hear ppl in hallway - Kitchen crowded/disorganized in morning Overall, this was a pretty good place. The staff could perhaps give you some more direction (describe... More

Dear Harold, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am concerned to hear about our reception staff were not helpful. We have recently introduced more training for staff members, including language courses to ensure this problem does not re-occur. Thank you again for your feedback. More

I booked 2 nights here as I went to the Northern Greenhouse in Cairns (part of the same Friendly Group) which was great. However, Greenhouse Backpackers failed to live up to this. The location is excellent, one of the best placed to nosey around Melbourne and explore the city; the evening offers including free pasta and nights out are also... More

Generally, everything was OK, except a few things, most of them about the room we stayed in. We booked a double room. We could survive small space and lack of any reasonable shelves or wardrobe (yes, it is a hostel, so do not expect too much, but we also stayed at other hostels which were better equipped). But the major... More

I chose this backpackers after reading the majority positive views here (TripAdvisor.) Great hostel! Clean, well kept. Was a Finalist in a Victorian tourism award. My 3/F single room: spacious, linen & even towel & soap provided. Toilets: new, big, well kept. WiFi is only available in 6/F common area (not in my room) and wasn't working the night I... More

We spent 4 nights in a 6 bed dorm. Room is stuffy and dirty. Bedsheets and blankets are smelly. Size of the room is quite big though. Cleanliness of shared bathroom is acceptable. Shower is not hot enough in the early morning. The only good thing about the hostel is the location. Walking distance to everywhere ie. restaurants, fast food,... More
