My friend and I had an ok stay. Its not the most flash hotel/hostel, but its good enough for a few nights and is in a great location! We were entertained during the night by a violinist who mostly played amazing grace. It was very entertaining. I hope he is here to brighten your night when you visit the exford!!

The hostel is really minimal it has a bar downstair which make a lot of noise at the weekand and it is near a noisy street you can hear everything but it is in a good location and it is probably the cipper hostel in town. I sujjest if you dont require lux and need a place to stay for... More

I've only got one issue with this place: bathrooms. Understandably hostel bathrooms are a niggle but there was a broken toilet on my floor that wasn't tended to during my two-day stay. Aside from that, the staff are helpful, honest and actually smile when helping you. The communal area layout in the basement has a good flow and you can't... More

Stayed here for a week, and really enjoyed it! Prefect location, plenty of shops around. Could walk to the mcg aswell. The kitchen was big and clean, and a really nice tv room.. With plenty of films!! The bathrooms weren't the nicest but they were good enough. Had free breakfast each morning which was perfect.. Cereal, toast.. Tea coffee and... More

We stayed at the Exford Hotel for one night and the rooms are fine, big and pretty clean BUT the bathrooms were lets just say it.. disgusting. The showers were gross I couldn't go in them without flip flops, the shower curtains were an old, yellowing and mouldy and there was hair everywhere (and not just head hair...) I know... More

This hostel is in a great location. Right in the centre of China Town as well as a 5-10 minute walk from the rest of the bustling CBD. Our room was clean, sheets clean and mattress very comfy but lockers were old and battered and half didn't work. Bathrooms were communal but never a problem finding an empty toilet/shower. Bathrooms... More

The one night I stayed here was the worst 24 hours I've spent in a long time. The rooms and facilities are terrible, I'm used to staying at hostels and I'm not picky but this was a joke. It looks more like an institution of some sort rather than a "hotel". The bathrooms are filthy and they don't even have... More

I have been to hotels and hostels in over 60 countries and this was absolutely is the worst of them. It is extremely dirty. I got there and there was pubic hair in one of the bathroom's sink, blood on the floor, tampons, etc...By the way, they don't have private bathrooms. The showers have 2 temperatures: cold or scalding hot!... More

Me and a mate stayed for a week that turned into two, very friendly staff esp the northern chap, clean rooms. Friendly doormen. A bit noisy but you are in a busy part of the city. Good kitchen an lounge area. Will be staying again when we pass through melbourne.
