Do not EVER go here. Seriously, don't. The location may be close to the beach, that doesn't make up for the mess in here. Hot, dirty and moisture rooms, blood sucking bedbugs everywhere, bad and unfriendly staff, everyone smokes drugs in the building including the owner. No refunds, no service. I would rate it 0 stars if I could. If... More

Firstly this place is not for everyone but its up there as one of my best hostels in Australia It is rundown and dirty, for sure but its the staff and the other guests that make it such a fantastic place to stay. You will be sure to meet some of the best people and i would recommend it 100%.... More

All I can say is DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This is probably the worst backpackers in the history of backpackers. It's dirty, run down and the manager looks like he shoots up every 10 minutes. HUGE rip off! There is a $50 key deposit and when you go to check out, NO one is around. We tried to check out... More

I stayed in Jacksons manor from December 07 untill feb 08 and while there I had a truly amazing time! I would go as far as to say that it was the best hostel I stayed in while in Australia, not necessarily because of the premises or facilities but because of the people, staff and guests! The building is a... More

I booked this hostel months ago. I rang up two days before we arrived to confirm and there was absolutely no problems. When we arrived it took him 45 minutes to find us a room. The room was disgusting. There were supposed to be three beds available but just couldn't figure out which were the free one's. Room looked like... More

This place was awesome. The crowd here were great. Tim the night manager is a bit moody, but quite funny and a good guy at heart. We had so many good late night drinking sessions, drinking 4 litre boxes of filth wine. Its clean, well looked after and the building is an old beautiful manor house, and as for location... More

I stayed in Jacksons Manor a number of times. It's location is tops due to being around the corner from the trams into central Melbourne. You can walk 10 minutes down the road and you're in the heart of bohemian St. Kilda and 3 minutes walk up the road is Albert Park of F1 fame. The building itself is large... More
