I have stayed here a few times now, Not because of the service ( normally very average ) but for the spaciousness of the rooms - very decent, quality is good, lay out of rooms is good and location is typically spot on No traffic noise can be heard - but sometimes music from nearby bars - but never been... The room was very well laid out, with a good sized bathroom and the bedroom area divided from the living area and kitchen by a large sliding door.Kitchen/cooking facilities were good, with appropriate utensils and cooking equipment readily available.Offsite parking available within 1 block from the hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my partner and 2 mates. Had a room on the 10th floor which had great views over parliament. The room was clean and a great size for the amount of people we had. The hotel is pretty central to China Town and other attractions like the Melbourne museum. It doesn't have a restaurant or... More

Checked in to Mantra for a mid week city break for New Years Eve. Firstly what a great location, a short walk to all that Melbourne has to offer. Whether it be Myer Christmas windows, emporium or many of the great eateries in town this is the perfect location to stay. There is parking available just around the corner, at... More

2 nights on business in Melbourne. Room was a bit weird but had been hewn from an older building. Bed was comfortable trek to the shadow/toilet was a long one. Wifi was $10/night on corporate rate which is okay but I still think it should be free.

This hotel was fantastic! Great studio apartment. The bedroom was sectioned off by doors to the rest of the apartment. I was pleased to see there was a fully equipped kitchen and also washer and dryer located in a cupboard near the bathroom. The bathroom has lots or bench space, it is very spacious and it's also great that you... More

I had booked at the Mantra on the park, when i arrived they made me wait for 2 hours because it was only midday and the room wasn't ready yet. Then they informed me that there was a problem with the room and i would have to move hotels to another Mantra down the street, this was ok but they... More

Stayed for 2 nights over a weekend and location was good. Unfortunately the rooms have thin walls and can hear every word said from other rooms. The night club noises were loud and the rooms basic. The staff were excellent and couldn't be anymore helpful moving us to a different room. Location was great, walking distance to everything and

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
